as of late there have been some absolutely must have games for the iphone, games i never thought would be possible on the iphone and I am not even talking about infinity blade (although that is pretty)

here are 3 games i think are must have, all fairly new:

phoenix wright: fun detective style game, oh and its a ds game on the iphone - controls are perfect

final fantasy 3 remake: also a ds game that looks even better on the iphone, great graphics longevity and quick easy pick up and play rpg - a bit pricey but great grpahics and gameplay are surely worth it (and its still cheaper than the ds version)

nba jam: better than its console big brother (updated rosters, more tweaks etc) not only the best arcade sports game on the iphone but the best sports game - matches are short and can be played quickly - graphics are incredible ( i think 2nd to only infinity blade) oh and its better than the xbox and playstation version (which cost me 10x the price)

Ultimate Spider-Man: Total Mayhem is really fun, ran through that game like 5 or 6 times, Infinity Blade is fun as well

Maybe I am clueless, but I can't see this thread getting long in support and agreement. People who actually prefer gaming on their iPhone over Consoles....... It's cute to slingshot some birds to pass time, but it is no console replacement. There is only so much fingertip to screen touching that I want to do in my gaming time, especially virtual control pads super-imposed on the screen.

jericho it sounds like you havent played many iphone games

as i said in the 1st post there are actually some great games coming out now for it

i dont see it as a console replacement in anyway - who in their right mind could

it has replaced handhelds for me though (although i want the 3ds still)

some of the best ds games are making flawless (and sometimes better) transition to the iphone (gta chinatown wars [my fav gta gae of all time, although i own the ds one not the iphone one] phoeni wright and final fantasy 3) - and nba jam is actually better than its console version

virtual control pads are a bit annoying i agree but all the games i listed utilise them so well

I don't think anyone said that the iPhone is a replacement for consoles.

Not so much in this thread. I've seen various comments littered around the internet to that effect.

That's the thing. I'm have no interest in handhelds....especially to play a game like GTA on. If I'm at home, I'm going to be on my 360. If I'm out, the only reason I'll take my phone out to game on is to pass time.. such as waiting at the Doctor's office or on break at work. That means the game needs to be disposable in the sense of being quick fun for just a few minutes. It's at home that I will set aside a chunk of time for focusing on being somewhere/someone else for a while.
