Yes it was. Easily Naughty Dog's worst project. I....kinda like the concept though.

there has been a ton of threads on this subject, whos better, psp or ds..

the psp had tons of promise and was a good idea. but the games suck. the only game that people are interested in is gta. and that version will soon be on ps2 because it didnt sell alot on psp and they want some money off of it.

the ds offers alot of extreamly cool games and thats all that matters. everyone has an ipod pritty much, so why put mp3s on a poor mp3 player. and the umd movies are selling so bad, that all most all companies are done making them.

psp was a blunder for sony and ps3 is leaning towards being the number 3 home system.

1. The Playstation Portable has good games, Daxter, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, Metal Gear Ac!d, Medievil Resurection. And more on the way. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Devil May Cry: Dance of Sparda and others

2. The Playstation Portable is not a blunder. It has destroyed Nintendo's monopoly on the handheld market and is poised to be the victor of the North American and European markets. The only reason why the Nintendo DS is leading worldwide is because it is extremely successful in the Japanese market.

3. Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories on the Playstation 2 looks like s**t.

4. The Playstation 3's only detraction is the rediculous price tag. And I bet that because of such a negative backlash, Sony is going to have no choice but to lower it by $100. I predict that the Playstation 3 will have a very, very slim margin of victory. There are too many franchises that are invested into the Playstation brand that will sell the system: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Devil May Cry 4. These franchises sell the Playstation brand. Also the fact that it is a Playstation will help it out a bit too. Most predictions are also putting the Playstation 3 with a very slim margin of victory even post-E3 ones. Nintendo's Wii will without a doubt become the second place or maybe the victor if the Playstation 3 is not. I predict the Xbox 360 will fall to the third place spot this generation.

how did it detroy it, the numbers clearly show in USA the nintendo ds out sold the psp during xmas and beyond. and with the ds lite comming out, the ds line is growing even stronger. even the gba and gbmicro is selling well, even with a better nintendo hand held out there. in no way did sony detroy nintendo in the hand held market.

Like I said, the Playstation Portable offers you traditional handheld gaming while the Nintendo DS offers innovative handheld gaming. Sorta like the the Playstation 3/Xbox 360 compared to the Wii. Owning both is the best of both worlds. AND I HATE NINTENDOGS

I wouldn't worry if I were you. If Sony goes under this generation, Metal Gear Solid won't be gone. Either Microsoft will buy out Konami(like they did with Bungie and Rare) , or Kojima will bring it back to Nintendo.

Konami is way too big for Microsoft to buy. Kojima will probally end up putting it onto a Nintendo console if Sony went under.

....why did you buy the regular DS in the first place if you want to justify a sleeker better version via the ds lite? people are buying the lite becasue its smaller sleeker then the DS. if you want the lite just sell your reg ds, if ya dont then dont bother.

^Good luck with that. Sony has a tendency, not unlike Nintendo, to release certain asthetic upgrades in Japan only. Didn't they release PS2s of different colors for a short period of time in Japan?
