UH....that was a joke. It's a line from a Saturday Night Live skit. I haven't seen AVATAR yet....have no plans to see it anytime soon.....I suggest decaf for you.

Exactly! Hahaha! :hehe:

Anyway.. I am grate sucker for good S3D so I am not worried that I will like Avatar. I watched Coraline 3 times. Only thing I want is to make money for sequel. :yay:

^ Lol Kane I havent posted all day.. Take it easy bud. Im excited that Lee was throughly impressed and hes between my generation and my dads generation... This means Avatar will definitely appeal to very hard to impress quadrant.. The golden to silver age moviegoer. I think TR2 is going to fall as domestic king..

So, for those who have seen it, is Avatar a good date movie? As in, would a girl like it just about as much as a guy? There's a very cute girl at school whom I fancy, and she currently has no plans about seeing Avatar. If it's really all that and a bag of chips, perhaps I shall invite her to see it with me. :D

for regular folk in the US like us....

Lee your terrible my friend lol. Grrrr. Thought you saw the thing..lol
Well at least Im still excited, my friends on the two huge Avatar sites on FB are 40-62 and went ape for it.... So thankfully I still feel this movie could end up number one domestic and WW.:cwink:

Time when the majority of moviegoers are saying its more incredible than SWS and Jurassic Park combined, I think that means you grab your gal and run with her to good Imax digital 3D or Imax 3D theater showing. :woot:

I should make it clear that the 'love story' aspect of the film isn't the main focus at all, the survival of the Na'vi is.

About to leave pretty soon. Want to arrive 45 minutes earlier so I can make sure to get a good seat.

If girl is artistic type, drawing and stuff, she will probably love it. (Wife of my friend is painter and she hates SF. She loved Avatar.)

I'm such a giblet head. Checked my damn ticket before leaving.

Its for Thursday (Friday evening) 12:01 a.m. Don't know why the freak I thought it was tonight.

Sigh.

Is this true? I read it on another board...

[I"]Depends what you mean by "planned." Are they screening Avatar on IMAX? Yes. Was the film designed around screening in IMAX 3D? No. It was designed with Real D 3D in mind. They are two very different systems of 3D. The IMAX 3D system takes the original print of the movie, blows it up to 70mm (which isn't always a good thing), and then spits the movie out of two projectors to simulate the 3D experience. With Real D 3D, it's all in one digital box (so you are keeping with the medium the film was shot on), and the technology is only a few years old. Avatar was shot with Real D 3D in mind, and that is definitely the ideal way to see the movie. I have seen the 3D preview on both systems, and I can tell you--the depth and clarity of the 3D in the Real D system was nothing short of mind blowing, while watching the preview on IMAX felt like a gimmick. I noticed THAT great of a difference.

But as I said in another thread--don't take my word for it--go watch A Christmas Carol on IMAX 3D, and then go watch it again on the Real D 3D system and see the difference for yourself.[/I]"

@I'm Old Greg

Yes, and no.

Technically that is a true. Practically... you will probably enjoy it more at IMAX becouse screen is monumental.
