Death in the Family, WAS a gimmick....look it up. Batman Comics were at an all time low, they needed a boast, a tragedy. The boy crying about his parents was getting to be tired. So the put it to a PUBLIC VOTE, made it a GIMMICK to decide if Robin should die, to get people to READ the Comics again. How can you say that this is more of a gimmick than that was?

Todd was written to be an *******. But, they then tried to change his character to make him likable, but it was too late. So they killed him off. I still think he should have stayed dead, but Winick's a great writer, and I have confidence in him. I just had to post those images in response to the countless times I've seen Jason nailed with the crowbar. and, you know what, it feels good

I didnt mean the images that u guys, (and girl) posted in particular. I mean knowing that Robin was killed, but now, seeing him get revenge is cool. What sucks is that he is know as much a villain as the Joker, and probably more formidable for Bats.

As Batman said in Under The Hood: "He's good, very good, he's been trained well."

Also they have the emotional connection, and in comic time Jason's only been dead for som 5-8 years so its fresh in Bruce's mind.

Also Jason seems to be mad, almost insane. Decapitating ppl and putting their heads in duffle bags. Yet, he is also very calculated where he single handedly takes over black mask's hold on the underworld.

As Winick said in an interview, maybe Todd is going to be a hero. But since he knows how far the bad guys will go to win, he is willing to cross the moral line to save gotham from the state that its in. Maybe he'll have to do what Batman cannot. when that time comes, will batman look the other way, or stop him?

He wasnt written to be annoying, but he was written to be a rough around the edges, ahole. They anticipated Batman to soften those edges and make Jason channel his anger, but it didnt work, he saw being Robin as a game, and didnt take it seriously. He died accordingly.
