What's with the green lips?

Actually, looking at it, I can grow to appreciate Alex's Art Style. He keeps the black bags under the eyes, something I hope they use in the BB sequel.

For me, the Joker has easily been my "favorite" bad guy ever since I was a kid. The current Batman: Dark Detective storyline has been a great read because it feels like one of those stories that I read as a kid.

I think that's pretty much the definitive Joker quote. If I wasn't too lazy to go grab a comic I'd look for something else, but yours pretty much sums up the character. In fact, "The Killing Joke" as a whole, the dialogue is incredible. Maybe my favorite Bat-comic as far as dialogue is concerned.

Anyway, does anyone agree with me that Alex Ross has the best "realist" approach to the Joker imaginable? If I had my way the next movie interpretation would be an exact replica. Love the suave style, the slicked back hair. I don't even care that the suit isn't purple (outside of Kingdom Come, that is), because it's handled so well. I always thought of The Joker as someone whose insanity was expressed through his actions rather than his appearance. As much as I like the trully depraved, unhinged look, even at it's extremes in stuff like Arkham Asylum, making him look like "a professional" really hits home the fact that he's not just a nut, he's a nut that's charming as hell.
