Yeah, well, Blake Lively was cast with the "Kids love her in that Gossips Girl show, let's get her!" school of thinking.

BLake Lively not only scored on popularity, she is getting cast in lotsa productions and she grabs the camera, audience and red carpet. Plus she did a great job acting in Ben Affleck's movie.

I'm talking about the reasoning behind the makers of the Green Lantern movie. That's the kind of thinking they had and that's why her casting in GL felt off.

Unless WB decide to take things seriously. Now that Lobo, Metal Men got a sorta movie planned, I think more and more franchise would start to appear on the silver screen. Its possible WB might do a Justice League unlimited in the 3rd movie where like tons of heroes appear on the screen.

People around here don't like Wonder Woman being a non white woman. But i think it could be stretched a bit. She's an amazon, the skin can be a bit darker and it would be realistic. For the people who are agreeing that Justice League should be a little more realistic than Avengers or whatever, they sure as hell are close-minded. Only wanting her being some pale skinned american looking dark haired chick. A bit of a tan would be better, but i wouldnt be opposed to a darker Wonder Woman.

Yup Solange from Casino Royale indeed. The woman just keeps my blood rising 110%!!!

And yeah no harm in Diana looking a little more exotic in appearance. Makes things look more authentic given the fact she's a gift from the Greek Gods and all.

That's not entirely true. In past Justice League threads and Wonder Woman's thread, there has been plenty of support for going for a Mediterranean-looking actress, that it didn't have to just be a white woman in the role.
With that said, of course we've said no to black and asian actresses as WW simply because WW is neither of those.

I would think it looks a little weird for a non white looking actress. I cannot imagine someone like Eva Longoria as wonder woman.

I just cant imagine anyone non white really. Lynda Carter's image is too ingrained in public's eye that I think they wouldn't use someone too far off. I also don't think WW should be tan. Because I'm not big on the whole Xena look on WW.

Meh, it shouldn't be about trying to please an audience of a past adaptation. It's called a reboot or reinvention of a character for a reason. You do what is necessary for the character. And if you want to make it believable, she's an amazonion warrior and there should be an exotic nature to her. Having a tan is no problem what so ever. If anything, it makes it more believable for me personally. She's not from some little town in the United States or Canada. The pale skin and those kind of features just aint gonna cut it. Christina Hendricks was a good choice for me mainly because Nicolas Winding Refn would have written something different for her. But she wouldn't have been ideal when it comes to her look, etc. It's not what i think of when Diana Prince comes to mind. Especially coming after these Nolan Batman movies, and Man of Steel, etc.

And Wonder Woman shouldnt just be a dark hair hot chick who has a nice figure but a bit thin. She's hot ok fine, but she's a damn warrior who is from a very different place to what we know over here in North America, or England, wherever. A lot of the casting choices here have been entirely based on looking for hot actress who can act decently. The look and physique imo is a big part of it.

As long as you get a good actress and a different design then ur not going to think of Xena lol. I dont want her to be that built either but as long as they use their imagination then it should be OK.

I love her, but she's no Wonder Woman, no matter the director.

I agree. There's a ton of other characters she could play that would suit her better. I think i would have been excited for any actress Refn chose though. Just cause i love that guy. But im glad they've moved on.

I've been starting to love Christina too after just getting into Mad Men recently, but no she doesn't scream WW, at all!

Diana should at least have some olive skinned complexion to her thus having that Amazonian look. Caterina to me would be a dream come true but that is what it is, a dream!

Anyway here is my ideal Justice League:

Superman: Henry Cavill
Batman: (I can vouch for) Wes Bentley if Christian Bale doesn't return.
Wonder Woman: Caterina Murino
Green Lantern: (I'll give) Ryan Reynolds (another chance)
The Flash: Joel McHale (though he's 6'4" so he'd tower over everybody lol)
Aquaman: Alexander Skarsgard
Martian Manhunter: Voice of Laurence Fishburne (despite being Perry White. If John Rhys Davies can be Gimli AND Treebeard then why not? Audio Engineers can work a little magic)

Green Arrow: Charlie Hunnam
Black Canary: Abbie Cornish

Oliver and Dinah can be introduced in a sequel.

Adam Hughes's wonder woman, one of the best interpretations, is very tan and doesn't look white at all. I would think she would have to be tan. I woulda rather have a tan actress.
