The Last Boy Scout

Don't be rediculous!

I just watched the Siskel & Ebert review. HILARIOUS! The fact that Ebert's calling it such a vile picture with horrendous language, ect... And Siskel flat out gives it the *Thumbs Down* for the same reasons.

Yet, only 3 years later they hailed Pulp Fiction as the greatest film acheivement of the 1990s. And the vulgarity in that movie is as high as you'll see???

I found the endless screaming profanity beyond tiresome. To me, this ranked around the Bad Boys II level. Mediocre at best.

That said, the dude falling into the chopper blades was sweet.

Right, but Pulp Fiction wasn't vulgar for the sake of vulgarity. There were themes and ideas, as well as cinematic techniques, that were fresh and exciting. Pulp was arguably, one of the most visceral and truly rivetting "smart" films in the last two decades. It's always reminded me in a strange way of Taxi Driver.

The Last Boyscout, on the other hand, was a cliched idea that never reached beyond the limitations of the genre. It was a low-level violence-fest with little approaching any sort of artistic merit.

Loved this movie and this is propbably Willis' most badass character ever.

TLBS is a formulaic buddy action flick..but ya know, it was a lot of fun. Certainly gets the job done.

This movie kicks all kinds of ass. Yes it is a cliche 90's buddy team-up but the comedic exchanges between Wayans and Willis are classic. I always have a bunch of laugh during this movie.

Yea, its a fun movie but is it any different than Lethal Weapon? Shane Black got a million bucks to re-write Lethal Weapon!

Can't Knock The Hustle (c)Shawn Carter

The studio obviously made it's money back...

It's not like hollywood is known for being into original ideas.

Haha, agreed.
