Then you're just willingly ingnore the points I raise and choose to focus me fiercely resisting unsubstantial criticisms. When a guy says he doesn't like the gameplay of Part 1 and Part 2 didn't change his opinion - well, OK. He didn't like it. In what way does it makes his opinion any more credible than those that praise gameplay?
But it's not the first time you made comments on the game:So yeah, it very much looks like seeking validity after a rushed judgement.
I'm not dismissing what he's saying, I'm dismissing the claim that his opinion is more credible than those that rank the game highly. I have no issue with people disliking the game. Not to mention, nothing is liked by everyone. But I listened to his opinion and he can't really discuss the things he was bothered by the most (because of review guidelines) and gameplay didn't impress him. That's it.
You do you. I tried to be argumentative.
It's not an unreasonable expectation. I'm asking in what way this review is more valid than a review packed with praise or simply less critical? Because I just saw a review that said that the sequel improved gameplay from the first game dramatically, but it doesn't mean it's the best gameplay system ever. Sort of, if you didn't like gameplay of the first game, give this one a chance, it might feel a lot better.Because its not an unreasonable expectation to hope the sequel has improved the gameplay as most good game sequels do. In what world is that an unreasonable criticism?
The logic is simple. "I made a rushed judgement about the game and now I'll seek validation of my knee-jerk reaction because the game received critical acclaim. So I'll cling to even remotely mixed or negative reviews." For example. If it's not you, then my mistake.Two things;
1. My choosing to not buy the game after having leaked spoilers confirmed doesn't mean I am looking for validity in negative reviews. On what planet would anyone who loves the first game and waited 7 years for a sequel want it to suck? Explain the logic in wanting the game to be bad. Its easy to explain your logic because you want the game to be good and resist any negativity thrown at it. But why would anyone who loves the first game and never once expressed any negativity toward the sequel until those confirmed leaks be seeking validation for it to be bad?
Share, if you have them. Let's read and listen to them all.2. Obviously not everything is liked by everyone, but this is not a scathing negative review. Its a balanced review showcasing the pros and cons in great detail. That's why I highlighted it. I could easily have dug a review from someone who did nothing but bash it from beginning to end if it was validity in negativity that I sought..
Maybe I was. After a month of reading hateful comments on reddit from people who know nothing about the game beyond a few isolated scenes, maybe it made me a bit biased.I don't think you did. I think you were just assumptive and dismissive.

Right now haters from reddit are praying on Skill Up review because it's one of very few mixed opinions on the game so far. Even Skill Up himself had to come out on twitter to say "please look for other reviews too, I might be very much a radical minority who disliked the game".

I liked that review.
It reassures some of the fears I had for this game. The gameplay might be good, but the story is horrible and it will not hold you long enough without you getting tired of it all and just wanting it to end.
Just a heads up the ending has been leaked.
Really debating if I want to subject myself to it.Just a heads up the ending has been leaked.
For those curious or still on the fence. I have been doing a lot of reading, and from what I get:
This is a game where they turn the crew from the first game into really, really awful people, in what feels like an attempt prop up Abby as not all that bad in comparison. If you liked Ellie and Tommy from the first game, they don't really exist anymore.
You play as Abby for a very large portion of the game, apparently without interruption.
The ending sounds... odd. Like extra bleak for not much of a reason, unless the idea is that with TLoU3, they are going to do some major surgery with one of the characters, and base the game around that.
This stuff, which I have read from mutiple places, is from people who really liked the game by the way. So yeah.
Really debating if I want to subject myself to it.
I've read the leaks, but I think seeing the actual scenes will make it more "real" for me. Right now I can just sorta tune it out if I want to but if I see the events it's always going to be there popping up in my memory like a bad rerun when I think about the series. Ya know...If you don't want the meaning and value of the first game completely ruined for yourself, then maybe this isn't the best story to invest yourself in.
