Just finished the game today with nearly 16 hours clocked in. It was truely one of, if not the most beautiful, intense, and brutal games I've played. The story was masterfully executed, with stellar voice acting and visuals. The gameplay was extremely addicting and gratifying, very much like Uncharted's gameplay was.

There was one aspect that was a little disappointing; the ending. I was expecting something with more emotional impact. It wasn't bad by any means, but it did not live up to the engrossing and powerful storytelling earlier in the game. In spite of the ending, this is still one of the best games I've ever played and I cannot wait to experience it again.

The Last of Us story DLC introduces new character this winter

The first story-based DLC add-on for The Last of Us will feature a new character, Naughty Dog's Eric Monacelli has declared in a post on the PlayStation Blog. Following a lengthy casting phase, this extra chapter, which is due sometime in December or January and part of the Season Pass program, will begin its motion-capture filming sessions next week.

"This is an ambitious story with strong ties into the narrative of The Last of Us," Monacelli writes on the PS Blog. There is no mention of whether protagonists Joel or Ellie will make an appearance.

Prior to the single-player content, the multiplayer-focused Abandoned Territories Map Pack will arrive on October 15. Four maps in total are included: Suburbs, Bus Depot, Hometown and Bookstore. The third piece of Season Pass content will also be multiplayer-centric and is due within the first half of 2014.

The Last of Us Season Pass is priced at $20 – which Naughty Dog says represents a 75 percent savings over picking up all of the DLC piecemeal – and available through PSN and GameStop.

  It's relatively rare to release a blockbuster new IP so late in a console cycle, so many had wondered if Naughty Dog was thinking about porting The Last of Us to PlayStation 4. Looks like that's not happening.

I'm really disappointed that out of all of the games that I planned to get on BF, this was the only one that I couldn't get. I was waiting for the $25 Walmart sale, but it was sold out, and I was away when it went on sale at Amazon, and I didn't have enough to get it for $35 after I made all of my other orders. It's a shame because this is most likely going to be the GOTY and I missed out on every chance I had to play it this year.

I still haven't played this thing and its getting harder and harder to avoid spoilers. I really need to get my PS3 fixed. Maybe i can find a local shop that can fix it on the cheap.

This game came out aright around the time that I started working and didn't have much time for games anymore. A friend of mine was supposed to let me borrow it, but then we stopped talking so that was no longer an option. I ended up renting it from Gamefly, but I only had a weekend to play it and was so busy that I couldn't sit and get into it properly, so I decide to wait for Black Friday. I'm hoping they put it on sale again before Christmas because by then I will have left my job and will finally start hitting the mountain of games I have accumulated in the past few weeks.

even thouh I put up what I did up cause it was a shocker this isn't their awards give away that they do every year.

I have no doubt it'll be on EPD.TV/ROTR's Rocket and Ray Guns awards and every other awards for games as you mentioned.

I think GTAV will win GOTY but I honestly think that TLOU should win I played both and TLOU had a more of an emotional impact which is something the Story of GTAV never did not to say GTAV was bad it's a great fun game but that's about it. TLOU is a emotional ride which is something I have never experienced in a Video Game.
