Has Naughty Dog mentioned the possibility of a sequel?,I really want to know what happened when they got to the town at the end and if Ellie ever finds out the truth about Joel and the Fireflies,I guess that can happen in comics/graphic novels but I felt very attached to Ellie&Joel

Please God no. The ending is the perfect ending for Ellie and Joel's story. Those characters should be left alone.

It's comments like this that show me people really don't understand the beauty of this game. It's storytelling and character development and how it all ends is so well done, especially for a video game. People always gotta ruin things they wanna know what happens next. As The Beatles said, let it be.

It was just a thought,I understand what you two mean and agree but was just curious,That's why I said maybe it can at least be done in a comic or novel.

A simple"No that's not a good idea"would have been fine!

In my mind it won before I even finished the story,In my opinion..This is probably the most Amazing/Beautiful/Emotional/Intense and Messed up(all at once)video game I've ever played,Easily the best Playstation 3 exclusive game and I see it as an instant classic and will go down as one of the greats of all time from any gaming generation!

Same goes for me. Game of the Year, no question.

I do second the desire to see another TLOU game. My love of the characters speaks for a desire to see what happens to them afterward (the argument that this desire means a misunderstanding of the story is utter BS, imo), though I'd never complain if we never see how their lives progress after the ending. I also wouldn't mind a prequel...showing how Joel got to where we see him - its obvious based on what we know from the game that his life leading up to where we meet him was pretty dramatic. Wouldn't mind seeing that play out...but as it all stands, the Last of Us is wonderful as it is and isn't missing anything. Desire to see another game speaks only for my love of the characters and the world Naughty Dog created.

I cant believe it. I lost all my progress with the fireflies after just quitting one match. Is that even possible or I am missing some hidden feature of the mode?

So I have this game from Gamefly, and I quit my job today, so I can finally play this! It's so ironic how I started my job right when this was released and how every attempt to play or buy it failed.

any of you guys seen this?

LOVE the name of the 'trophy' when it unlocks :funny:

Just finished it, and my god was this awesome. I still have to finish Bioshock Infinite, but this definitely goes at the top of my list for GOTY. I loved GTA V, and I still think Tomb Raider was deserves honorable mentions, but this game just turns it up halfway through and really had me hooked.

That trophy was hilarious.

I'd play Lego The Last of The Walking Dead :awesome:

I actually just finished this game. I think Ellie does know the truth. Joel's story was ********. Even a 14 year old would've seen through it and Ellie did (otherwise she wouldn't have confronted Joel). I took the ending as Ellie accepting to live with the lie. Joel isn't going to abandon her like her parents, her friends, Marlene, etc. She is home, with her "father." She and Joel both know she couldn't make the choice...she'd have to sacrifice herself. So instead, they have decided to accept the lie, let Joel bear the burden for Ellie once more.

Anyway, I'm sad it took me so long to play this. Amazing game.

The thing about the ending is, that it's no clear if it would have even worked. So, their sacrifice might just have been in vain. And by that point, the infection may have taken its course anyway.

I just finished it this morning too, and I was really glad that Ellie made it out alive in the end because she really became one of my most favorite gaming characters in recent years. As for Joel, I was finally listening to IGN's spoilercast and I was a bit surprised to hear them label him as becoming the "bad guy" in the end. I definitely understand the choice he made, and in many ways I agree with it from a selfish standpoint of not wanting to see Ellie die, but it was interesting to hear that the ending came off as sort of a twist with Joel making the selfish choice as opposed to the "morally right" choice.

Actually, from what I've heard in the IGN Spoilercast that I mentioned, they said that they had spoken with a member of Naughty Dog who confirmed that they would have definitely gotten the cure from Ellie and saved humanity had they been allowed to do the surgery.

And knowing that, I think it makes the ending that much more impactful since you see the true weight of the choice that Joel made.

I don't remember exactly what Joel told her, but what did he lie about?
Didn't he say that the Fireflies tried the surgery on others and that Ellie wasn't the first one like that? I recall that this part isn't a lie at all.

It was a lie, ellie was the only one that they came across that was immune and could have developed a cure from. Not too mention he killed a bunch of fireflies, including Marlene.

That in and of itself is a longshot. Even if Ellie somehow held th key to uncovering it, there are challenges that arise like if they even have the resources to make a vaccine. How does one even manufacture a vaccine with those limited resources, enough to administer to the entire US, let alone the world? There's no centralized government; it was pure anarchy with different factions and groups looking out for themselves. How do you even distribute it? To truly remove the problem, you'd also have to kill and get rid of all the clickers and spores out there which seem so widespread by this point. I think a "cure" is more of a pipe dream. Something to give them hope, not really too practical.
