Even though X3 is the weakest of the trilogy, I have to say that Cyclops wasn't used by Singer very well either. He wasn't the Scott I knew from the comics who stood out as the leader, instead he was completely overshadowed by Wolverine. Re watch both X1 and especially X2 and you'll see the limited thought that went into the character. I loved both of those movies but X3 merely put an end to a character that was barley being used but instead playing more of an "obstacle" to allow Wolverine and Jean's odd relationship.
The characters in Wolverine is just straight up cardboard. X3 had way more believable emotion (Even though X1 and X2 still trump Ratners film by a substantial margin) than Wolverine's almost soap opera execution (thanks to the dialogue provided by whatever script they went with).

But at least in X2 while he was off screen Jean was telling Logan she loved Scott more than she loved him, Logan even said to Scott at the end of X2 ".....She did make a choice, it was you." In X3, he was just forgotten about by everyone.

True which is why X3 among other things is a far worse film than X2, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying X3 is better than X2 or 1, its just better than Wolverine as a film imo.

Its just that I think the characters in Wolverine for the most part weren't developed well at all. They had a couple of lines and then you kept getting pulled towards the end going through badly put together set pieces layered with weak CGI.

And Angel was developed? Beast? Magneto's cronies?

The last time I watched X3 it wasn't as bad as I remembered it, but it's still a huge steamy turd. And while Wolverine has it's flaws, it's way better than X3.

X3>XO:W

X3 felt like a theatrical movie, a bad one.

Wolverine felt like a Sci-Fi channel movie, a bad one. Since this movie is the most expensive X-film to date, where did all that $ go? It certainly wasn't into the fx, which were mediocre at best.

Is your avatar from that movie where David Schwimmer plays the guy who invented breast implants?

I really don't know. I just found it somewhere online and I thought it was funny.

I agree 100% about them not using Cyclops properly. In x1 he was the *****e in between Wolverine and Jeans relationship.
Wolverine: You going to tell me to stay away from your girl?
Scott: If I had to do that, she wouldn't be my girl.
Wolverine: Well, then I guess you've got nothing to worry about, do ya, Cyclops?
Scott: It must burn you up that a boy like me saved your life, huh? Gotta be careful. I might not be there next time. Oh, and Logan stay away from my girl.

in x2 he disappeared for the whole movie and came back to cry over Jean dying.

and then in X3 they gave him more lines and character than both movies combined and killed him 10 minutes later.

I know we(comic/x-men fans) hate x3, but sadly a lot of people think that it was the best X-men movie.

Yea thats wrong. ITs banning an opinion one could have. and MANY do share... despite what you think, alot of people LOVE X3 and now Wolverine...

I dont love X3, but i do like it somewhat, and can accept it for what it is. look at the good in it. Same with Wolvie...

Cannot agree more with you...

X3 Felt really Epic and just large scale. (granted it could of been so much better, think about if it was properly done, theres no reason that X3 couldnt of been better than TDK.)

Wolverine seemed so...not epic. The big actions scenes just seemed to be cramed into the movie every 20 min or so. They never really built up to anything like...

X1- Statue of Liberty
X2- Dam breaking at Alkali lake, escaping, and Jean sacrificing herself
X3- Golden gate bridge, Phoenix ripping everyone a new one.

All the previous movies built up to something, but in Wolverine it was just scene, big action, cut to another scene, random big action set piece. They just didnt seem to flow! The best parts of the action was Deadpool breaking into the room with all the people cutting the diamonds, and Gambit/wolvie in the alley. Everything else was so rushed..

And its hard to beleive this was the MOST expensive movie of all 4? really...what did they spend it on? Most of paid Hugh 50 million I guess?

To some extent, I like X3. I even liked it enough to get it on DVD when it came out. Sure, it ain't a masterpiece, but the movie entertained me.

Wolverine, on the otherhand, bored me to death. I think it's quite a lifeless movie.

I think Wolverine is much better.

The one silver lining to this movie is that X-Men 3 will no longer be the most hated X-Men movie. That obviously doesn't magically make X3 as good as 32, but it at least means that I won't have to hear people complain about it quite as often...

I voted for Wolverine, 'cause X3 was too weird, and we have Gambit in XOW.

given there was some things I really liked in X3 (Kelsey as The Beast) just like with Wolverine (Liev and what we got from Ryan Reynolds), I would say equal suckage.

OH MY GOD Last Stand was better than Wolverine!

I voted for Wolverine because it was a movie about one character. X-Men: The Last Stand, like the first two, were about a team of mutants. So, more damage was done! That being said...I enjoyed both movies. They worked as mindless entertainment. Although that's not what fans of the comics want. So, I understand the hate.

X1 and X2 are the only good ones, but Wolverine was at least watchable. X3 was not.

I personally enjoyed Wolverine more, but overall I don't think it's as well made as X3.

I still can't get over why people rip X3 to shreds. Some going as far as to say it's worse than the FF movies?? Come on! I don't think it was bad at all. Sure, they crammed a lot into it, but that's the only thing it's guilty of.

They took some liberties with the characters and didn't have enough Colossus in my opinion, but otherwise I thought it was well done. I'll have my Wolverine thoughts tomorrow...

I like your comicbook movie list.

I choose X3 as the better movie. Actually I liked X3 more than the first movie too so...there you have it. None of the movies rocked my boat so this aint a hard choice.

Wolverine easily.

The action was fun to watch, unlike the boring crapfest known as X-Men: The Last Stand & it's acting was waaaay better than X3's.

wolverine > the last stand

At least this movie didn't felt like a franchise killer. I'd like to keep on thinking TLS never happened...

Well lets see, no vitally important characters were killed. Though it was a movie about Wolverine it didnt make him out like a screen hog. There were actually cool fight sequences rather than a five minute shot of something being destroyed and labeled and action sequence. I liked the score a bit better, and there was far better acting.

Continuity flaws yes, but none that **** up the future like X3. CGI was a bit meh,but believable. Had a bit of a lighter tone, but still stuck to the nature of Wolverine, and it was actually kind of funny in the right moments.

Yeah im with Wolvy on this one ;)
