The leaked trailer: Anyone got around to finishing it?

Hopefully, id love to see it.

 

I actually remember thinking about this at the time because all of the footage released for it was out in one form or another but just not together in that trailer format.

I will say that if you are attempting to redo it, leave in the original venom footage at the end, it's much better than the crap one we got later on which looked like chewging gum stuck to your foot.

for me, it's probably just slightly still behind the teaser trailer in quality but still behind the spidey 2 theatrical trailer which (in fairness) is one of the best trailers ever made.

 

For effect the banned one was great, especially considering the average movie goer wouldn't know what the hell was going on and then it hits ya (just like all trailers should). Unfortunately i see it a bit as a one trick pony and i find it hard to watch a pointless bank heist, it doesn't have repeatability (which is why i said spidey 2).

the first trailer for spidey was good especially the 'you're not superman' line and parker's re-edit of looking guilty.


ps, the youtube link i posted IS a re-edit of the leaked trailer with all the poor cgi and other scenes replaced (bar the ones that never made it into the movie and have been found elsewhere but still).

I'm actually working on this but it's been put on hold due to college studies. Now that I'm on break I'll probably resume it. Even though a few people have recreated the trailer and I commend them for their efforts, my version aims to be as perfect as a finished version can possibly be and that includes consistent aspect ratio, each little scene being precisely the same length as the original, using higher quality "Columbia Presents," "Next Summer," and all that.

I'm hoping to complete it before I go back to school in the next couple of weeks and then upload it onto youtube. Don't expect it then, it's what I'm hoping but there is no guarantee.

EDIT: If you'd like to see, here's what I got done so far:

This is the first step, to calculate bits of footage and where it starts and ends. It's alot of work but not difficult, just time consuming. Of course once all this is done the real fun begins.

That trailer right there would have been absolutley brilliant if it was the theatrical trailer. A little off in the beginning and at the end, but overall, it's done perfect.

that's because once you cut out all the crap, all you are left with are scene from the trailer.

Thanks guys, now I'm more motivated than ever to complete it. To give you another update, I've ripped the movie off my DVD and I'm going to cut the footage that I need. I guess I'll do all the simple ones first than edit the more complicated stuff by adding the correct effects (adding flashing, merging into other clips, zooming in).

 

I tried it once. The only thing is that it has the IGN logo on a few clips and some of the titles are kinda crappy.

cool awesome my trailer got postedt: thanks to everyone who watched, it took awhile. I'm proud of it for the most part, but windows movie maker is stupid and screwed up the first part, but oh well.


actually though since everyone seems to like it so much, I think I'll try to fix it so that it IS perfect, or really close

I suppose I'll make two versions then. The only higher quality footage that I think we've seen of the original Venom transformation isn't as long as the one in this trailer. I guess even some of the finished footage from the leaked trailer doesn't look bad on youtube, but not to worry as I'll be replacing all the footage with DVD quality versions.

Then I'll create an alternate version of the trailer and change the end slightly (I'll still see if I can somehow mix in some of the final footage, if that works).

Uh...what? Everything you see in the trailer is presented in the movie.

 

I think he meant the trailer is kick ass, but the movie sucked. Like most trailers today
