I think it would be awesome. Like Lord of the Rings. I think if it ever happens, George Lucas should direct it. And it would not turn out like Mario Bros., or the Zelda cartoon, LInk should be a character thats sort of shy, he doesn't talk much. Not all, "Well excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me princess!" like he was in the show.

And they should get a half Japanese half American guy to play Link.

As much as I'd like to see LoZ on the big screen, I have to vote it down. All the video game movies have raped the series, especially the last Nintendo *Mario Bros*.

I wish there was a "yes, only if..." option.

Anyhow, I chose "yes" just because I wanted to explain further...

Yes, only if they stick to the formula of the game and be true to it - if that means making everyone speak Hylian then so be it and make it feel like a Disney/Miyazaki film, not a Nintendo Super Mario Bros. film.

Everybody who says no must think it will turn out like a regular video game movie, but it wouldn't. It would be like Lord Of The Rings! Zelda has more of a story than any other video game! If George Lucas were to direct it, it would be like epic fairy tale! I think it would be great if they did like I say they should.... cause I'm a genius. :yay:

They should make in the Final Fantasy Advent Children Style, only better. That would rock!

Advent Children was CGI. Which would work for a Zelda movie, but I'm talking about live action.

Oh yeah, and John Williams should do the score.

George Lucas hasn't been a decent writer/director in quite some time.

I want a Zelda movie, but keep that man away from it. :p

George Lucas directed Labrynth. I think that was a great movie. And Star Wars III was good. And if not him, Peter Jackson.

One problem, Gotendbz-2: if George Lucas directs, it'll turn out nothing like LOTR. ;)

I'm not sure the Bearded One's touch would be the ticket for this particular project. Zelda has got to be done by a filmmaker with a soft spot for the actual games. Respect, even love, for the source material is the key base ingrediant that made Batman Begins, Raimi's Spidey and yes, Jackson's Ring trilogy, great films. We want that level of commitment, that attention to detail for Zelda, right? So we need to let directors come to the project instead of just offering it to big names. Let them pitch their ideas for the show, meet with Miyamoto, then seal the deal with whomever 'gets it.'

Besides, I'm with William-15. Really beautiful CGI is the way to go, as opposed to trying to please thousands of fanboys with the 'right' actor for Link.

A LoZ movie would turn out like crap, sorry to say. Comparing LoZ to LOTR is like comparing a collegian poet to Poe. It might be good at what it does, but it's not nearly good enough filler-wise to make a good movie out of.

Yes, but only if it's in a fans hands. Not live action though, I can see it going the route of Beowulf and the Polar Express.

Off topic, but I can't let this pass...

I share your esteem for Labyrinth. However, that movie was the work of the late, great Jim Henson (yes, as in Muppets), not Lucas. In fact, the entire film was developed in-house by Jim Henson Productions and Henson's famous Creature Shop in London. Just FYI.

No. Link doesnt talk, we'd end up getting Marlon Wayans playing him and cracking lame jokes every 5 minutes.

This whole topic is filled with such heresy. I'm going to have to authorize a exterminatus immediately.

You people automaticly so no to everything. Read the first post!

And if you had no choice against them making a movie, who would you guys want as a Director and cast?

Well no to Lucas. He raped his own universe 20 years later, I'd hate to see him touch Hyrule.

I voted yes, but now I am thinking otherwise. If done properly in the hands of a master and on scale with say LOTR, it would be amazing. You could even milk it and make a trilogy that goes OOT, TP and WW (but darker).

However, video game movies in general suck. Hollywood has no respect for the adpatation of games and video game companies seem rather careless on what happens to their properties after a paycheck is signed. It would not be treated as LOTR or even Narnia but likely come out as a Dungeons or Eragon mess. Not something deserving of the Zelda title.

So, no, unless it is written by a real fan who has talked extensively with Myamoto and directed by a filmmaker above the level of Paul Anderson and Uwe Boll, two of the worst filmmakers of all time.

C'mon now.

A Zelda movie should not be really dark. Zelda (except for TP and MM) haven't been that dark. I think it should be a lighter film than Lord of the Rings.

And just give it a chance please. Zelda has more story than most video games. And if you never give it a chance, you'll never find out how good it could have been if it was done right. And even if it was done wrong (which it wouldn't if I was in charge :oldrazz: ), it wouldn't ruin all things Zelda. Look at the TV show, everybody just kinda thought, "Well that sucked, oh well.", and even Mario, the movie didn't ruin anything but itself, it didn't destroy the games. Now I'm not saying I want a bad movie, I'm just saying you should at least give it a chance.

And yeah, I guess Lucas was a pretty bad idea.

Whoa now, Narnia was an okay movie.

How is Eragon a mess??? It hasn't even come out yet.

.....George Lucas? Ummm.....no. No. Maybe if someone ELSE wrote it, someone else directed the actors, and Lucas' sole responsibility was to making it LOOK pretty, but no.

I said that now that I think about he wouldn't be very good.

Jeez, it was just an idea.
