Legend of Zelda Movie

A part of me says that this is legit. I remember hearing about a Zelda movie being made by a bunch of unknowns, and this might be it. However, if this is an April Fool's joke, it might be a good thing. Zelda would make for a great movie if it's done exactly the right way. If that can't happen, I'd rather it stay a game.

They should've made it a teaser trailer, use the best elements for 30 seconds.

[EDITOR'S NOTE: April 2, 2008 - 12:01 a.m. PST. Yup, you guessed it. The Legend of Zelda trailer featured above is part of an elaborate April Fool's Day prank. Check back in later today for more details on the IGN/Rainfall Films collaboration that resulted in this "love it or hate it" piece of videogame movie history.]

It truly amazes me how long it takes for some people to realize when something is a joke and move on. I bet you six months from now, people will still be passing around this trailer and saying "I heard that it was actually legit, and that Nintendo disguised it as a joke to test audience reactions." I actually know kids who still think that Sonic and Tails are hidden in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Ganon wrecked it for me.

I thought of the following person whenever I saw him......

Dr. Teeth from the Muppets

I'll assume you meant Knuckles.

And if you throw a trophy stand in the background of the Sonic stage at the exact moment that Tails and Knuckles run round around the big loop you'll unlock a multi-man brawl against 20 Tails and 20 Knuckles. Beat them all and they are yours to play as. You can tell your friends that. :cwink:

First thought after watching this fake trailer:

I want a real Zelda movie!!! :D

The trailer definitely showed that Link's costume would need to be tweaked for a Hollywood film. The green cap on that actor looked absolutely ridiculous.

I saw this yesterday. The opening images of Hyrule to Zelda's lullaby and the last two shots of Epona and the Master Sword are awesome. I also think that the spider fight looked great and the storyline of combining OOT and TP to avoid a little boy Link would be a great idea (Zelda sealing Link in the Temple of Time or someone else and he comes out having not aged seven years later).

However the opening shot as cool as it was obviously said fan made to me and April Fools joke and all the bad CGI shots. Still cool and fun.

But all three "leads" look off. Link looks way too old, Zelda does not have a majestic image about her and also looks too old and Ganondorf looks like an ape. Still cool.
