The Lightning Saga, JLA/JSA Crossover

I'm down for the crossover. I like both books very much. (One better than the other, but both are liked.)

Whiny b***hes the lot of you.

JLA rocks!

Black Lightening ROCKS!

Geo Force ROCKS!
They're cool characters but they are not worthy of the Justice League.

When I read Justice League I want the big names: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Green Arrow, Hawkman, and Black Canary. The Martian Manhunter and Red Tornado are musts. Seeing characters like Zatanna, Firestorm, the Atom, and Plastic Man are cool too.

As I said, Black Lightning and Geo-Force rock, but they are not Justice Leaguers. Put them where they belong: on the Outsiders.

Vixen Rocks!
Vixen was always a lame character.

My proof of this? GAH agrees with you. Therefore, your opinion is wrong. :o
You have a point there :o

Characters like Zatanna, Firestorm, the Atom, and Plastic Man were hardly "worthy" enough names for the Justice League until they actually were on the Justice League. As it is today, they barely have a presence outside of the League anyway. What makes them so fitting for the League where Geo-Force and Black Lightning aren't?

Anubis knows.I love the JLA lineup.Good looking team.

I don't have a clue who all these Legion people who are supposed to be dead and from the future are,but I've been enjoying the output of both writers and I think both JLA and JSA have been different yet entertaining books.

So read Grant's stuff.

I like them because those characters, especially Zatanna and Firestorm added a lot of power to the team. Also they were somewhat established on their own.

Black Lightning and Geo-Force became established because of the Outsiders. And they really aren't that powerful.

The only reason why I'm not calling this incarnation of the League weaker than the Detroit incarnation, is because at least this incarnation has Superman and Wonder Woman.

I also admit that I am rather partial to the Satelite Era of the roster.

Then you've obviously never read what Geo-Force and Black Lightning can do. Geo-Force is up there (although I don't know how that works with his crappy new powers) in strength alongside Superman and Wonder Woman. His control of lava and the earth is also incredibly versatile and useful. Black Lightning's got some amazing control over his powers and is an overall badass. They should just give him his hair back and ditch the goggles though.

I still don't understand what the problem is. You don't think they're popular enough or you don't think they're powerful enough or what? Firestorm isn't that popular, and Zatanna hasn't appeared in a book for months. Black Canary and Red Arrow aren't very powerful at all and aren't very mainstream characters. Geo-Force and Vixen and Black Lightning are certainly more powerful than Hawkgirl, and I haven't heard a single complaint about her. There just doesn't seem to be rhyme or reason behind these claims.

Black Canary can take down WonderWoman ... and Red Arrow is a myth! (yes im in denial)

never underestimate the Canary Cry

If it comes out in 2 weeks, make the thread in 2 weeks, why now when we dont know any information?

thanks .. i work out

Tropico: i made this thread so that we dont end up disscussing the same fu**ing points in both threds..
Dude, don't stress it. Thank you for making the thread because, yes, it does make sense.

I don't remember Black Canary ever taking down Wonder Woman. Unless you're talking about the sparring match when both of them knew Diana wasn't using even a tenth of full strength and how she was intentionally holding back so that Dinah would have an punching bag to vent about Ollie on.

yes.. and dinah says that she can do Diana some serius damage if she uses the full blast of the canary cry..
but! thats the only way she can take down any really powerfull meta
and diana would soooo se it coming and just zip zop punch dinah to pluto

If I were still reading Justice League, I'd be complaining about her. God, I hate Hawkgirl. What a useless waste of space. I'm sure they're gonna shoehorn in some obligatory angst between her and Carter in this crossover, too, because Lord knows we haven't seen nearly enough angst between those two in all of the last seven minutes. :o

I just read the Meltzer interview on Newsarama (here, if you don't know what I'm talking about), and pretty much the only thing I liked out of everything he said was Black Canary as leader. It'd be a lot more fitting if Black Canary were still a founder of the team instead of Wonder Woman, but the fact that Black Canary is the leader is still good. The dual bases idea was nice on JLU, given that the team had about a thousand members on there, but I don't see how it's supposed to make sense here. What, are they gonna have five members on the satellite and five in the Hall of Justice? Also, the doors are a clear rip-off of the Authority. Anyway, I'm glad they at least went with the JLU design for the satellite rather than a return to that floating ball design.

Also, "Red Arrow" is now and always will be incontrovertibly, utterly ******ed. Way to crawl right back under Ollie's shadow, Roy. It'd really suck if you'd worked the last ten years to eke out your own name for yourself, huh? Oh, wait... :o

Same here. Y'know what I would've found even more fitting? Black Canary not leaving the Birds of Prey. I really hope they've got a good excuse as to why she up and formed the new JLA even though she went into semi-retirement there.

So pretty much you want the same League we've had for the last 50 years in some shape or form. Boooring.

if you red BOP #104 you see Babs talking about that .. she belived dinah just needed a change of scenery

Which just makes Dinah a ***** for leaving the BoP as she did, and I don't really want to think that of her.

I think its better explained that she wanted to go out and be a superhero again and not be some covert ops women's super team.
