Horror The Long Walk

Still so funny to me that we’re getting two Bachman book adaptations in such close proximity.

Who’s who in The Long Walk and what number (if any) do they have? Well, here is what we know so far…

The Hype being slow as **** for me hasn’t really given me the chance to comment on it, but yeah, it looks fantastic.

I thought it was just me experiencing slow loading times.

Looking forward to see Hamill in that uniform. I've been thinking about this novel, and damnit, I'd say it was late 80s when I read this.

I love that book. It’s so disturbing. I’m curious how the ending will translate to film.

Yeah, I watched the clip that is out there. Not posting here, because language and gore. Yeah, this seems like its going to be quite the theatrical experience.

This year has got to be some kind of Stephen King theatrical record of adaptations released; The Monkey, Life of Chuck, The Long Walk, The Running Man. Let alone The Institute on TV.

The movies have all been critically acclaimed as well, but hopefully The Long Walk can actually break out at the box office.

Yeah, four theatrical releases in one year looks to be a new record. There have been a few years with three releases. Cujo, Dead Zone and Christine in 1983. It Chapter Two, Pet Sematary and Doctor Sleep in 2019. And you could say 1990 had three movies if you count Tales from the Darkside (only one of the segments were based on one of King's stories). The other two movies in 1990 were Misery and Graveyard Shift

And Welcome to Derry in October.

I'm currently reading the book, and I'm really enjoying it. It's dark and thematically rich (and unsettling), but it hasn't been that gory as of right now, especially compared to some of King's more fleshy work. Based on the reactions and one wild shot in the trailer, I wonder if this is going to be the one King adaptation that's actually gorier than the source material. So many of those, particularly older ones, are annoyingly toothless.
