The problem with all those cinnamon whiskeys is they are loaded with sugar. Sugars in the booze are what lead to hangovers. So more sugar = worse hangover.

Always better off drinking non-flavored booze. Higher alcohol % means less sugar. Beer is full of sugar regardless of alcohol content since that tends to be no more than 10-12% without the flavor being overpowering. If you like whiskey get a good single malt Scotch, minimum 12-year. My fave back in the day was Aberlour.
