The MARVEL characters REDESIGN thread - Part 1

Well why not some Venom Jr. Worked on this since early this morning, still working on it with shading and lighting effects but it's done enough to post.

I haven't posted in these forums in a long time. With the recent debut of both the new Spider-Man and Superman movie costumes, I thought I'd chime in with some quick sketches I did of the new Spidey. The first one is a rendition of the EW cover that came out a few weeks ago. The second, is just the new suit.

I really like these, your art style reminds me of the animated series a bit. I like it.

Yep. The character designs were done by the great Sean "Cheeks" Galloway. Been a fan of his artwork for years. I've incorporate a lot of his same techniques into my own. Really love his loose interpretation of anatomy. Big fan of his coloring, too.

I'll take that as a compliment. Thanks.

Glad to see you're still drawing and posting! Those sketches are tight. Very nice, man. A little bit "cheeks" as someone said, but also your own.

Oh trust me it was, most of my art work is more cartoon-ish but yours is a very nice mix. I love your style. Keep it up.

Thanks Phig. I'm always drawing. It's what I do for a living. I make it a point to do some kind of a sketch every single day. Whether or not it's comic related, that usually changes from day to do. I'll be sure to post more of the ones I do, or anything I might be able to dig up.

Keep drawing, Venom. Practice makes perfect.

Here's my most recent, non comic related illustration. Big fan of Robinson. Wanted to do something using Sketchbook pro, Manga studio, and Photoshop.

a cool redesign alternative to the terrible movie suit

I've been trying to redesign Ms. Marvel's costume to bring back some of the red from her classic costume. I thought the sash had grown impractical so I got rid of it. I still want to work on the boots, add some red trimming on heels.

I've been wanting to redesign Storm's costume to reflect her Kenyan nationality. Since artists don't care about her cape's glider design I got rid of that. I drew her a long skirt to act as the wings. It spreads open when she generates a wind to fly. She wears green nylon leggings with small black shoes.

I didn't draw this, of course -- it's from Thor v2 #61 (iirc). I did, however, apply my Photoshop skills so that we could clearly experience the entire ensemble.

I LOVED this outfit, and was sad indeed that it existed for merely 3 pages!

I LOVE that! :hrt:

Hope it's okay to resurrect this dead beast: here is The Vision!

And here is Tigra in a better swimming suit (she does have fur...)

Very cool. But I think Wanda was more impressed by his assets than his cloak.
