Homecoming The Mary-Jane Casting Poll - Part 3

If Zendaya is indeed playing Mary Jane, perhaps she will have the hair from the set photos throughout most of the movie and at the end she comes to Peter's door (maybe because they are about to go to the homecoming dance) rocking the long red hair and says the face it tiger line.

They're taking inspiration from the Netflix shows and only having her become MJ in the last 15 minutes where she gets the red hair and the name Mary Jane.

well, I certainly don't get any MJ vibe, AT ALL, from those set pics of her.

and if she is still MJ, then why bother? MJ is supposed to be smoking hot. And Zendaya is beautiful and can pull off smoking hot model look.

and then they just go and make her all frumpy and reserved to downplay her beauty.

that's not the character of MJ - never mind her ethnicity.

Maybe she's on the job serving customers? The last thing you want to give off is a Hooters vibe when you aren't working at Hooters. Besides, these kids are in high school. The model gig may not come into fruition until the college years if they even go that route. Maybe they are taking some USM MJ and bypassing the fancy classic introduction. I still say 49% she will be MJ, 51% some superheroine alter ego (Black Cat being obvious). Way too tall and athletic not to go that route, or worse yet, cast as another damsel in distress with little to work with.

I'm gonna vote no for Ariel Winter too... same reason why I'm not 100% on board with fancasting Bella Thorne (another actress who looks like comic MJ) as MJ.

They both come off as pretty skanky and provocative on their social media and I really doubt Disney would get mixed up with that... it's not a good look, especially for this film which is (very apparently) going after a younger audience.

Thats why films have a hair and makeup department. Skanky? Yeah, gonna have to disagree there. Provocative? Definitely but who cares? That's not an issue. They're beautiful young women who work in an industry that have an overliance of such female sex appeal; and it's not as if this film is going to have MJ walking around looking like "baby hit me one more time" era Britney. Winter's a solid actress, looks smoking and could definitely pull off the part. What's ironic is you say Winter looks Skanky but the cinematic MJ (Dunst)we've had actually was characterised as a skank.

This movie came on freeform the last weekend, it is a completely innocent scene, the chipmunk is using the turtle's [insert technical term] i.e the bumps and grooves of the turtle shell to wash clothes, and the turtle is ticklish.

But I guess b/c the turtle is looking down and the chipmunks butt is in the air it means something or is it the way the clothes is played across the turtle's body ...how do people even notice this stuff without rewinding it back a thousand times.
