So we watched it on the 23th...and i kind of like it.
Its written quite nicely, shot fine enough and well paced.
The story and characters i thought fit well with the story the movie told...nothing groundbreaking but also nothing utterly broken.
Two big problems i see however, are that it never felt as big as it should be.
This is matrix 4 and on all accounts it should have felt huge...but it didnt.
I got the feeling at times its a TV show budget Matrix, which maybe would have even been a better idea.
Because world building it could have needed more to get a feeling for the size and time that had gone by etc.
A limited TV show focusing on what happened between Matrix 3 and 4, would have helped on that front i think.
And the second one was that it lacked Style.
Especially noticeable in the action.
While the opening worked fine enough, later on the action while being fine for any other movie, never felt like we were in a Matrix movie.
Even with the effects etc, it felt more like a budget copy of it instead of a real movie from the franchise.
The Action would have been totally fine if it would have had that Matrix Style to it.
Outside of that, i found it to be fine enough.
Helped that i absolutely didnt knew what i can expect and therefore didnt set any expectations of what i want to see.
Dont know if i would like a sequel to it, it works fine as some kind of Epiloge.
But if they do a sequel, they need to get it at least visually right.
Its not a groundbreaker, but i also can not take anybody serious who claims the movie is trash, the worst, awful, cringeworthy etc...because i didnt saw a movie that fell apart enough to be any of that.
