Come on now…I KNOW I’m not the only one who really likes the Megatron design for this film.

It’s a protoform, so it looks very alien and old. He looks savage, deadly and dangerous….yet the design also contains a large amount of self-absorbed regal like stature and feel. Like a creature that wants to rule, feels he deserves to rule over inferiors…but isn’t afraid to get dirty himself and in fact ENJOYS inflicting pain upon those he feels are lesser. A cruel and vicious tyrant absorbed in his ideals.

At least that’s what I get from the design.

Seeing him in action makes me like him more and more

now I wanna hear him talking. anything.

There are a couple clips floating around in a few game sites and some other sites. I can't access them from work and doubt I could find them again...but maybe someone can post a link?

The clips I heard sounded fantastic. Very ancient and gritty and well...EVIL. :) Not too far off from the original voice, only more gravelly and less cheese.

Er, correction. Not the game. Sorry, wrong guy for that one. :P

The main thing that has me excited for movie Megatron is Hugo Weaving. That man has the voice of angels

i love the movie design i think it looks amazing. i too cant wait to hear him speak its gonna be sooo menacing im sure

The design looks pretty cool, I just mainly want to hear him talk and see him in some full-on action. When they first showed those tv spots and the final trailer with him falling doing that flip it reminded me of a modern movie vampire in bat form. Where there big and more humanoid beast like than bat. Basically like in the Underworld movies. I would also say Van Helsing, but that movie was crap.

This Megatron is more Megs than the G1 dude ever hoped to be.

Ok, I finally heard the test screening of Hugo doing Megs voice. I am seriously impressed. It actually fits the look of the character so well!

oh, i've heard that before and i love it. if that's what he'll actually sound like in the movie then it'll be awesome!

Yeah, I really like it. Menacing, evil and yet a very regal feeling. That aura of superiority.

Soooo much better than Welker's old, grumpy Megs.

I am under the impression that there will be quite a few more G1 throwback moments, situations, and actions that we haven't seen. The sword and cannon scene alone got me pumped once again.

I have always been neutral with him design, knowing that it is a protoform and that Megatron wouldn't dare adapt himself to such human insect scum.

It will be interesting to see what all of us brainstorm and come up with for an adapted Earth form in a sequel.

I love Megatrons movie look!

He grew on me. I mean all the robots are basically walking shards of twisted metal (for better or worse. I got used to it after a while. And his face seems less H.R. Giger than it did in the first few designs.

The cannon would have been nice though. Really really nice.

I've grown fond of Megatron over the last few weeks, especially since they re-designed his head. Plus considering the fact he is still in his protoform, he looks pretty cool. Prime's, Ironhide's,etc protoforms sucked, so it's safe to assume all the TF's look bad in that form. I'm sure once he picks an earth-mode in the sequel he'll look more like the Megatron i know and love..until then all i have to say is.........

"I would have waited an eternity for this....."

Looking at the International trailer, he just might still have a cannon. Might not be the one armed one but he could still have a cannon.

OMFG IT'S KANE FROM ROBOCOP 2!!!

lol just kidding. I think hugo will be great. love me some menacing villain acting from him though welker should have been cast.
