Yeah, like I said, in my head this was one of those "down the line" Justice League sagas to do. Ya know, when it was time to "take things dark," lol. But when you start out so dark...I don't even know.

You're in film class.....do they teach that one of the right ways to make a film (or a series) is to progress from semi light to dark and then back again (it worked for the SW original trilogy)......so far the Superman storyline seems to be dark then pitch black.....where do they go from here?

I actually think folks... not to be melodramatic but... I think I need to take a break from the Hype. Really. I truly feel that there is not a thing I am going to say right now about anything connected to BvS, whenever it's brought up, and it's being brought up EVERYWHERE on the forums, that is not going to end with harsh words or worse, which is inevitable given the discourse right now. I think a week or two away is what I need. I have been busy during the day and even nights with my show production so it was lucky I missed being in the mix so much in the appropriate threads, but now it's all over and even checking in here it's more of the same. I think once I get my final posts on DD season two in I will go MIA for a bit, like I said, maybe a week or two.

Frankly, my full and honest opinion, I understand fan disappointment, I understand not liking something, hell I can't believe I was alive to see THREE separate Superman related, no wait scratch that, now FOUR Superman related tv shows in my life and I have no love for any of them, so I get not liking the product you as a fan have to put up with.

However... No. I just think that what is going on with BvS on this forum and elsewhere in the wider fan world is, for myself, a tipping point and perhaps is showing a side of the fan culture that was always ugly but has now had the nitro boosters activated on it and rocketed beyond the stratosphere. Like I said... melodramatic, but the overall attitude in the fan community right now as well as some individual posters in general is exhausting to me at this point in my life and not fun, or interesting or engaging to my old tired ass.

So yeah, I'm gonna post that DD stuff and then step away for awhile. Not that it matters really to anyone but in case anyone asks ya'll have an answer.

Yeah, In terms of any 3-act story structure, the dark stuff is usually reserved for Act 2. That's where the "turn" happens and the obstacles/disasters hit, and things become dire. Given where they've started, I actually can't think of a "light-hearted" JL story that would be well-suited for "lightening the mood" from here, so to speak. But having fun with [blackout]Bruce having to bring the League together[/blackout] seems like a decent place to start. BvS could be like a "prologue" and JL1 could then be the proper Act 1.

EDIT: Argh, sorry folks, I said I was done with the BvS talk. I was trying to talk comics and it just morphed into this. Sorry to see you go, KRYPTON! Hope it's not for too long.

Okay... That was melodramatic. But man... Just when the light seems the darkest...

I literally just got a response back from Jon Schnepp (Collider Heroes, Death Of Superman Lives) about the podcast who said he was gonna listen and give us his take. I'm still taking that time off from the Hype for a couple weeks but... Man I feel ten feet tall now for some reason. I had contacted him a few days back but he is a busy guy and I'm some no name so I should have expected a slow response. Feeling better now.
