The Mighty No. 9 Thread

That is honestly.. just a horrid trailer.

Thing is, the footage isn't bad. But I can't get over the voice over. It is like the worst 90s ad ever. :funny:

well the dev's of mighty no. 9 said this about deep silvers marketing. it was reported prior that they got themselvse involved with deep silver and one of the gamer News out lets was operation Rainfall that mentioned it. ( I don't think I put that article up.)

Keiji Inafune Expresses Regret Over Mighty No. 9’s Delay, Looking Forward To A Sequel . June 10, 2016 . 10:15am

Comcept is expected to finally release their side-scroller action game Mighty No. 9 this month, and Keiji Inafune shared some of his thoughts and struggles that went into the development of the game.

Comcept is expected to finally release their side-scroller action game Mighty No. 9 this month, and Keiji Inafune shared some of his thoughts and struggles that went into the development of the game in a recent interview with 4Gamer viaHachima.

Here are some of Inafune’s quotes from the interview:

  • “We deeply apologize to the fans and backers for having taken much longer than expected. I learned again how difficult it can be to make a game”

  • “(The reason of delay) was not because we were shorthanded, but due to how we were going to sell it, and then biting more than we can chew after declaring that it will be released for all the hardware. But it was a good [learning] experience.”

  • “What I thought about most while making this game was ‘I want to show the greatness of Japanese games. When listening to fans of Japanese games abroad, you often hear them say ‘Japanese games used to be great. I worked on this game in hopes of getting those people to say ‘this is good’ again.”

  • “One more thing I’d like to say is that Mighty no. 9 is a [set of] ‘contents,’ meaning it’s not just a game. We’re also moving forward in an anime and live action film for it. Development for a sequel is already in our minds, and we all share the feeling of ‘we’ll do it even if it doesn’t sell’.”

Mighty No. 9 will release in North America and Japan on June 21 and Europe on June 24, 2016 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC.

Well isn't that a shot in the taco... :(

This was one of the Kickstarter games I was looking forward to the most.

It's getting bad reviews across the board. I've looked at seven reviews, and none of them are above a 6/10. Wow! I was expecting around an average of 8/10, this is averaging out to around a 5.5/10.

I'm glad I didn't back this on kickstarter. Not gonna pick this up. Sad.

There's always Red Ash. :o

Now I'm afraid for Yooka-Laylee. :(

I figured it would be a good Mega Man throwback but it's not even that?

The reviews are pretty rough so far. Lots of 5-6 scores floating around.

So it was the developer who was crying like an anime fan on prom night. Mystery solved. :o

Watched Jim Sterlings video. Man I'm glad I didn't back this...

What a shame. I was so eager to support this...

The early animated test footage.. Yes, had a it disclaimer that the finale game may not look like that.. But why on earth didn't it? To top it off.. All the frigging blabbering in the game..

ok so the easy allies( pee's formerly known as game trailer) EPN.TV and even Giant Bomb have yet to put up their video reviews. But EPN.TV did put this up.

It's kind of amazing to look back and see the optimism and excitement for this game, and then what it turned into just crushing all of that brutally. It's a shame, really.

Is this one of the first major kickstarter game that was an utter disappointment? Bloodstained, Yooka-Laylee, and Shenmue 3 better be good. Yeah I'm taking it out on other games and developers as well. :p

I'm really looking forward to Bloodstained and ready to support it as soon as it is released. I can only hope that a better job will be done with this one.
