⚾ The MLB Thread

Man, the Mets picked a bad time for their bats to go cold. I'm usually wrong, but I just can't see them winning this game, let alone beating the Phils with this kind of offense. No disrespect to the Brewers and I love Milwaukee, but, yeah, rooting for the Mets.

Leave it to me to be wrong.....the Mets go cold at the plate and put up 3 with 1 out in the 9th.... :lmao:

EDIT: and drop one more with 2 outs.....man, baseball is a funny game.....

And this is the first year since 2016 that the Houston Astros won't advance to the ALCS.
Good......the Astros have been on my S*** List since, well, you know since when......

I don't like the Dodgers chances against the Padres. I mean, it's baseball and as we've seen, anything can happen, but patchwork pitching does not go well with the playoffs.

I'm no Mets fan but OMG (no pun intended) Senga comes out of nowhere to pitch for the Mets in Game 1 at Philly tomorrow, what?! What is going on with these Mets this year?? This is insanity! The power of Grimace continues to astound!

I mostly want the Padres to win their first World Series which would bring a Championship to the City of San Diego because the Chargers couldn't win the Super Bowl in the 1 Super Bowl they played in since they got bulldozed by an elite 49ers team, also it would be something new.

I would also enjoy the Tigers winning a World Series because the last time that happened it was 1984 back when WWE was WWF, also the lawsuit from World Wildlife Foundation hadn't happened, VHS's were being sold, Schwarzenegger was competing with Sly Stallone mainly as Action Movie Stars, and Arcade rooms of Arcade Machines was a common business.

I don't really see the Dodgers going anywhere in the playoffs (by that, I mean maybe they win a series...or two???), but with all of the injuries to their pitching staff (way more important in the post-season), I just can't see them winning the crown this year unless Buehler can really step is up. Yamamoto and Flaherty will also have to be solid and one more of the young guys will have to step up. The bullpen is very solid, but they'll need to get hot at just the right time....I don't like the odds. .

All that being said, don't feel too sorry for Ohtani and Yamamoto. They are part of a team that lost 4 of their top starters most of the year or right before the playoffs and still had the best record in the Major Leagues. Hats off to the Mets. They struggled through the season and made the playoffs, so good on them. You never know for sure what's going to happen in a short series, but I don't think they have the horses to go anywhere.

"IF" they can sign a couple of guys like that, sure, next year looks brighter, but there are a LOT of other clubs out there with a LOT of bank.
You're not wrong, but I could see Steve Cohen spending billions on the top guys on the market. The Mets should have no problems attracting free agents to join us! We can win a playoff series! David Sterns. A lifelong Mets fan! Put a damn good team together. I believe every free agent is putting the Mets on their list. They want to win and get paid very well. We had a good run, and we desire to continue winning!

I love your unbiased approach when it comes to the Mets. :funny: ;)

Great game 1 for the Guardians! Hope they can beat them again Monday

With the Browns more than likely being so-so this season, it's nice to see at one team from Cleveland make it to the playoffs.
You have a funny idea of what " being so-so" is. ;) If it means "sucking", then I agree with you.:funny:

Yeah, they're already 1-4, I can't imagine they'll get any better as the season goes on, unless they decide to put Deshaun Watson on the bench.

Not looking good for the Guardians right now. Feels like they're about to be bounced this round

Due to getting their starting pitching staff devastated by injuries, I didn't think the Dodgers would fare well against the Padres, but, I'll tell you this, the Pads had better close it out tonight (and I think they've got a very good shot at it) because they don't want to go back to Dodger Stadium and face Yosh in a game 5.

Francisco Miguel Lindor Serrano 🇵🇷 - clutch Grand Slam! Brings it NYM 4- 1 PH

Edit:
And that does it, Mets into the NLCS

Congrats to the Mets. I wish the Guardians had a player like Lindor this season. :(
