I don't really see the Dodgers going anywhere in the playoffs (by that, I mean maybe they win a series...or two???), but with all of the injuries to their pitching staff (way more important in the post-season), I just can't see them winning the crown this year unless Buehler can really step is up. Yamamoto and Flaherty will also have to be solid and one more of the young guys will have to step up. The bullpen is very solid, but they'll need to get hot at just the right time....I don't like the odds. .
All that being said, don't feel too sorry for Ohtani and Yamamoto. They are part of a team that lost 4 of their top starters most of the year or right before the playoffs and still had the best record in the Major Leagues. Hats off to the Mets. They struggled through the season and made the playoffs, so good on them. You never know for sure what's going to happen in a short series, but I don't think they have the horses to go anywhere.
"IF" they can sign a couple of guys like that, sure, next year looks brighter, but there are a LOT of other clubs out there with a LOT of bank.
