Well......the Dodgers have all but clinched the NL West with their 4-3 win over the Padres. The magic number for them is 2 with 4 games left (one more against the Padres). I think it's highly unlikely that even if the Dodgers lose to the Padres tonight, that they then go on to lose 2 out of 3 to the Rockies. Even if that were the case, the Padres would have to win out. against a Diamondback team that is fighting for their own playoff berth.
I'm frankly surprised the Dodgers have the best record in MLB with all of the pitching injuries they've suffered. They lost Kershaw, May, Glasnow, and Stone for the season and only recently got back Yamamoto and Buehler (the latter being all over the map) and they expect to get Gonsolin (who has basically been on the IL for the entire year) back, but who knows how that'll work out. If they tie the Phillies, the Phils get the #1 seed because of their head to head advantage. I don't think there's much difference between the 1 and 2 seed anyway, but I don't see how they can possibly win a WS with that patchwork pitching.....
