Hey, you guys hear that Tim Sylvia is gonna fight Fedor? I think sometime in July under the HDNet.

I saw that Shamrock/Le fight, Bubonic. They really did slug it out and it made for an interesting fight in that respect (lot's of action), but I expected more out of Shamrock. Why the hell he didn't protect himself from those kicks better is beyond me. And Le is a one trick pony that will get his ass choked out once someone gets him on the ground. I can see that coming a mile away. Every submission artist with a chance of getting in the ring with him will be gunning for him and they won't stand up and bang with the guy like Shamrock did. I know Frank was trying to make a point, but it didn't work very well for him. All Le has are his kicks and that's just not enough in MMA.

And Sylvia vs. Fedor? I don't know how Sylvia will fare, to be honest.

I know how he'll fare. He'll lose. Or he could win if he puts Fedor to sleep as he dances and Fedor gets tired of waiting for him to fight. I hate him (as a fighter).

Yeah, I don't like Tim much. Hopefully Fedor destoryes him and moves closer to Couture. Now that's a fight.

One of two things are going to happen.

1. Fedor kills Sylvia, literally kills him.

2. Fedor gets caught sleeping in the biggest upset in MMA history.

True, there were a few times when he did a spinning back kick where he almost got caught, had it been Jeremy Horn or some other sub specialist, he'd of been choked out on the stop for the gamble.

But I liked how he adapted, he kept doing the spinning kick, but followed it up with a spinning back fist, so when Frank went to nab him again, he got clobbered.

I dunno, he needs to be tested more, but he's a damned precise striker, like a surgeon he is, if he could brush up and round his skills out he'd definitely make for a prime fighter(then again I'm a Kimbo believer :oldrazz:). Atleast he isn't just fighting people under his own rule system anymore.

I'm excited to see the Fedor fight, it's going to be nice to see him finally fight someone that poses a threat to him. I wouldn't be surprised if Sylvia wins this. But it's definitely time for Fedor to show why he's the GOAT and just completely decimate Big Tim.

Wait doesn't Syliva have a contract with UFC?

Did you guys read the Chuck Liddell comments about Kimbo Slice?

Also, I am assuming Cung Lee broke shamrock's arm with that blow to the head Shamrock tried to defend by putting his arm up?

Liddell didn't say anything new.
It's pretty obvious that Kimbo hasn't had any real competition, he's an iconic street fighter they are trying to build up, and it won't do them any good to have him being demolished so early on.

One thing I find annoying is the Gannon trump card everyone brings in when talking about Kimbo's credibility. That fight was supposed to be straight up bear knuckle fighting, Gannon was sneaky and put Kimbo in a guillotine, completely winded him, and eventually Kimbo just had no gas left in the tank. Regardless of this, when looking at the two men's faces after the fight, based on that, I'd of called Kimbo the winner.
Gannon had already been training in MMA at that point, Kimbo had none of that.
A fight they should set up, that would be interesting, would be a rematch.

Yeah, though I would like to see it, I don't see myself ordering it. The Serra/GSP fight is the only one that interests me. :o :csad:

Not like you will have to wait long to see it afterwards

Can't wait for the fights tonight, hopefully Sierra gets his bell rung.

On a side note, a Xtreme Couture Gym just opened about 5 miles from my house. I'm thinking of joining up. Not to fight, of course, but to train and roll around on the mat again.

Great fights tonight.

Lutter is an idiot and got his rightful beatdown from a superior fighter.

Quarry tried to make it entertaining, but it's hard when you fight a dancer.

Bisping shut up that little mockery of a chump McCarthy.

And GSP proved that Serra was a one trick pony and he did get lucky. GSP's training obviously paid off as he dominated the whole fight.

Yeah, I heard GSP just beat the ever-lovin' **** out of Serra. Can't wait to see that. :woot:

It...was...awesome

Serra was completely dominated the whole time. GSP took it to him and didn't stop. Great great fight

Not sure, but that's what they made it sound like. I think he broke one of his forearms with those knees.

Yeah, Bisping had McCarthy in the clinch and McCarthy was blocking one knee after another with his forearms. One finally slipped through (probably the one after his arm broke) and landed flush.

The Quarry fight was the biggest case of "Chicken ****" fighter I've ever seen. Kalib Starnes ran and avoided Quarry the whole fight, it was pathetic. By the end of third round Quarry was taunting Starnes by doing the "Running Man" around the ring and doing the "******ed Punching" act, and Starnes didn't to anything more than flip him off.
One judge scored the fight 30-24, the first time in UFC history.

The Franklin/Lutter fight was a bit disappointing, not so much the end result but how quickly Lutter gassed. Either his conditioning was **** or he had to do some extreme cutting to make weight.

The GSP/Serra fight was an ass-whooping, probably worse than the Hughes fight. I don't think Serra had a single offensive moment. And, my God those Knees to the side!!

I was also impressed by Danzig first fight at Lightweight and Ed Herman getting caught in a triangle and then getting his face beat into the mat was awesome.

Kalib Starnes just got released from his contract with the UFC after his performance. I have to agree with the UFC with this move they acted upon. This sport is for Ultimate fighters, and Starnes performance was awful, and he was in his home town. Really embarrasing.

In other news, Chuck Liddell had to pull out of his match with Rashad Evans. He tore something in his leg. This news sucks, in my opinion. I wanted to see Chuck knock him.

I agree, Starnes is a fighter, he didn't try to fight once during that run around.

Apparantly Kalib fought (and I use that term lightly) that way in protest of the UFC's small contracts for lower tier fighters. He said that he knew he'd be on the main card because the show was in Canada and planned to not make on offensive advance to STICK IT to the UFC.

What a ****ing idiot. There's rumors now that he's retiring from the sport. GOOD. He was a ***** back in TUF3 and he's obviously still a ***** now. If he doesn't retire then he's seriously ****ing ******. If he thought he was making much money now in the UFC, imagine how much money he's going to make outside the UFC after that performance. Anyways, good riddance to bad rubbish.

I wonder who they're going to stick in for Liddell now that he's injured. I've seen pics of his pulled hammy and they're ****ing GROSS. I've never seen one that bad before. I'd love to see Thiago Silva get put back on to fight Rashad so Thiago can **** him up.. But then they still need to find another main event. Bisping barely got touched.. Maybe they could throw him in there? I don't know who he could fight though? Hendo? Maybe Franklin can come back fast?

Hey man, I completely agree with you on the Kalib Starnes topic.

As for the main event, they should stick Thiago in there and just have a main event featuring Nogueria. Maybe have Arlovski fight him for the title.
