The Most Important Death In Comic Books

That's not what I've read. Would you mind explaining which issue states that, because all my info on him states Laufey died in one-on-one battle with Odin.

Thor vol. 3 #12. It came out about a month ago. We learn that Loki time-traveled back to his younger self and influenced his own development. Young Loki spurs Laufey on to fight Odin in the first place, and then Loki himself kills Laufey after the fight.

Gonna say Bruce Wayne's family. It's the first comics death that's essential to who the character is.

Take out the death of Krypton and have Superman say, just end up on Earth by accident. He still grows up to be some basically well-meaning dude who uses his powers to do good. Hell or if you even left him on Krypton? He'd just grow up to be some basically decent well-meaning dude on Krypton who does good with whatever relatively ordinary abilities he has. Whereas Bruce Wayne's entire existence, persona and personal mission are built around the moment he watched his parents die.

Also, bats! Did you know Bruce Wayne saw some bats once and it scared him? He totally did, he saw a bunch of bats and it totally freaked him right out. No, for real!

Dick: I hate you, Bruce! You never let me go anywhere!
Bruce: Yeah? Well, my parents are dead and no rich dude adopted me! I wish I had someone to never let me go anywhere!
Dick: You had Alfred!
Bruce: ...
Bruce: MY PARENTS ARE DEAD!!!!!

I see, I knew it had to be a new issue. Seeing as how this was his own fault, and Loki being taken in by Odin was his own undoing, it makes his history little less meaningful, but it gives him a more ruthless edge, I suppose.

You just reminded me of this...

One of my favourites.

Others feel the same way, but I like it. Loki's all about deception and schemes within schemes. It's appropriate to me that his own life is tied up in a giant scheme. Plus, the fact that Loki knows he gains power later on in life, would just fuel li'l Loki's superiority/inferiority complex with Thor and Odin and all the other pretty, perfect Asgardians he grew up with.

ya know I don't know if they would count for the MOST important but I think all the ones I'll list are at least significant.
The Death of the citizens of Central City which caused GL to go nuts.
The Death of
Laira
in the latest Green Lantern... which also caused Hal to go ape*****.
The Death of Steve Rogers
The Death of Mr. Pogo in Umbrella academy.

Yeah, no to Umbrella Academy. Anything to do with My Chemical Romance is NO.
