The Naked Gunn in The Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread - Part 62

I think my takeaway from all this is, I loved First Steps and that in the end is what matters most to me :word:

Absolutely.

Spider, be a lamb and change my name back to my Christian name, Shinobi Shaw, por favor.

No, but you’re not the one paying the penance either. You change it, it shall be changed back. Again and again. Forevermore, until the penance is paid.

I love ya Shinobi, but truth is even if I did change it back, I got multiple people who will just redo it and they got numbers on me lol! FC and Snow are committed

I step away for a few hours and it's now anarchy

Same, except it's amplified because I'm hungover. :o

seeing Tom in that suit and I can’t help but feel like one day we will see him and Corenswet share the screen for some mega fan service crossover cashgrab movie

I know you all feel it deep down, too
I do not feel that but I like what you're cooking. I'd buy 4 tickets tomorrow

I think my takeaway from all this is, I was right about the box office and I'm so happy the Gunniac took the bait. :hehe:

Btw Naked Gun was delightful and there was a montage in the middle I was truly not ready for. @Gunniac they got a good Buffy bit in there too.

Looking forward to seeing it with my mother since she wants to see it for her birthday. Never seen the original films or Police Squad before, but will do so.

Looks pretty funny from the trailers.

So this Ice Cube War of the Worlds movie…its getting EVICERATED. Has anyone seen it? Is it really that awful?

F4 saved from a BvS 69% drop by a lack of comp in weekend 2, but yeah. People aren't digging it.

Not a great second weekend drop for First Steps but at this point I still think Disney/Marvel should take it as a win especially on the domestic side of things and considering the more front loaded nature of MCU films nowadays.

It's still going to easily out gross both Brave New World and Thunderbolts* domestically and it's still on track to cross $500M WW which neither of those films did.

We just don't live in the same MCU era we did before the pandemic and it shows. The Avengers movies could also help in boosting these characters popularity in the long run but I'm also expecting those films to be fairly front loaded too even with holiday release dates.

Also, I wish The Naked Gun was doing a lot better because it's easily the funniest film I've seen this year and I was hoping it would open to more or at least closer to $30M than $20M.

Hopefully it has good legs and I'm really excited to see what Weapons does next week because it's looking like one of the few true breakouts of the summer.

Watched it last night. It's amazing. A lot of "so bad it's good" energy. Ice Cube delivers an all time bad performance and the tech is absolutely hilarious. Looks like a YTer movie from a decade ago.

There is a real chance this is the first year that Marvel has released a film that won't see one in the top 10 domestically.
