I guess we disagree on it. I'm just not that convinced there was all that much to mine from a pre-Civil War Spider-Man series when all the interesting stuff and characters seem to have come later. I do however agree that I'd have preferred him older rather than yet another high school story.

I have no interest in what essentially an episode of What If. If you want to do a totally original Spider-Man show in its own continuity, then do that. This half measure show just amounts to being What If, and that's not been a show I love or think about

I don't care all that much about Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man with the exception of Colman Domingo as Norman Osborn because that is just too good. Hopefully we see him in live action somewhere.

The Eyes of Wakanda sounds promising.

And I'm not a fan of the New X-Men outfits but I also don't think they're here to stay in X-Men '97. What would actually be cool is if they played around and gave them costumes from different eras for a couple episodes here and there over the course of the show, kind of like unlockable outfits in video games.

Marvel seems to have learned a lesson about announcing so many new things at these shows and decided to just focus on updates for existing projects here and at SDCC. The aftermath of that Multiverse Saga slate reveal really gave Kev ptsd.

It’s interesting Domingo is voicing Osborn since a lot of fans had him pegged as the new Kang after he hinted he had been j discussions with Marvel.

I really wonder if they’re gonna recast Kang at all or just open Doomsday with “Kang died on the way back to his home planet.”

I thought the Agatha trailer was alright but I'm really not interested in anything about it outside of Kathryn Hahn and Aubrey Plaza (probably not alone in that boat either) but it could be fun. Maybe Mephisto will actually show up this time.

I mean, that's plenty to get me to give it a chance. I wasn't expecting much from this so the trailer was a pleasant surprise. Getting Aubrey is the kind of thing that will push many on the fence to watch it.

Batman yes. Superman? Superman lives outside of the character and film itself. As with all of Williams major hits, it's staying power is down to it's simplistic, but overwhelming nature. For anyone else, it would be their most important contribution to cinema. For Williams, it might not crack the top 10.

I disagree. If anything, Elfman's Batman is the more powerful of the two themes, imo. And Williams is highly consistent and highly productive, but his work isn't light-years beyond everyone else's.

Films don't support the score. The score supports the film. What makes Zimmer's Batman work so good is how much it elevates and blends with already tremendous work, while being utterly distinct.

I agree a score is created to support the film and I agree the Nolan Trilogy score does that fine. I also agree no one should be making a movie with the intent of supporting the score.

But I will always believe that a truly great film score should also be able to stand on its own, without the help of the movie, and Zimmer's work in those films absolutely falls apart without the film there. In no small part because large swaths of it do not feel truly distinct at all. They feel like generic ambience with barely any actual musicality to speak of.

See marvel, you don’t need to lean on the very expensive past to successfully move forward, prop up the characters you got back that just landed you an R rated billion dollar movie

I’ve only seen positive reactions from GA people I know. It can probably make a fair bit more.
