Action-Adventure The NCIS Thread - Part 2

Well it didn't go down as I expected, the moment The White Ghost mission cropped up I knew that would be how Kensi would be written out, but I expected her to ask for the assignment to avoid confronting her feelings for Deeks, but instead they actual got that relationship into forward motion before she was shipped off.

I'm still not totally sure why they felt the need to suddenly rush them together when they knew they were writing Kensi out for 7 eps, unless they felt they needed to give the shippers something to cling to while she's away.

I hope Deeks isn't partnered with Granger in the field, I'd rather put Nell into action and see how that dynamic plays out.

I'm guessing The White Ghost will be the big season finale story, maybe even encompassing the last 4 or 5 eps.
I had the same feeling with how that White Ghost mission came up and then Hetty seeing how the Deeks/Kensi relationship was messing with mission readiness. From what show boss Shane Brennan has said, around episode 18 there'll be a big shock that'll affect their relationship. I'm assuming that'll likely be when she's just getting back due to her pregnancy/maternity leave. I'm thinking they will be pairing Deeks with Nell, Eric, or possibly the character that Andrew Leeds (Bones' Pelant) is going to be playing in a recurring role.

Also, it was nice to see Ernie Reyes, Jr. do that awesome fight scene with Callen and Sam.

I didn't see the hostility between them erupting either. It was a total 180 from what was implied to happen.

The hostility came from Deeks freezing when she was held hostage by the ISI agent at the apartment complex. She felt he wouldn't have done so if they hadn't just started a romantic relationship. Plus, she thought he had also gotten over his mental blocks caused by the events from his torturing in last season's finale and the season premiere this season.

It started before that, when they first walked in at the beginning of the episode. Both were silent, not speaking to each other, it seemed like there was some argument going on and that stand off just exacerbated it.

I'm sure the big shock that affects their relationship will keep them apart again. Looking at the description of the guy coming in as a recurring role I'm guessing it must be either Eric or Nell going into the field and this guy will take their place in ops while Kensi is away, hopefully Nell will be the one in the field.

Yeah, that fight scene was really well done.

I think they were being quiet as they'd slept together and were trying not to give it away to Sam and Callen.

That's probably the worst way to hide something; completely change how you behave normally. :funny:

I guess it was their trying to hide it, too hard. They went to the other end where both of them looked almost angry at the other, and this is before he didn't take the shot.

I thought NCIS Christmas ep was really well done and an interesting change-up with how it was resolved.

Callen and Sam protecting Buffy's sister was ok but a bit hard to buy as they were in the middle of LA and the Quick Response Force were anything but quick. :funny: Liked Deeks and Nell together and the ending with Hetty and Callen was interesting, I've thought for a while that Hetty saw Nell as a future version of herself.

The stuff with Kensi and the sat phone was nicely done, I figured Hetty would put Deeks number in there, and I'm glad they added the bit about Kensi trying to uncover a mole as I've been wondering when she suddenly became a sniper assassin, yet she's not asked why she was chosen.

I miss Ziva still...the dynamic of this new season hasn't clicked for me yet. It will though...it always does.

Well, this is LA traffic we're talking about here... :cwink:

That's been foreshadowed a number of times now. Personally, I don't really see it. If anything, Nell strikes me as the ultimate anti-Hetty. The two of them couldn't be more different.

Firstly, Hetty started as a field operative who then worked her way into her current managerial position where as Nell is a genius analyst with limited experience and comfort in the field (the only one she's better than is Eric, which isn't saying much). Secondly, we've seen how Nell gets stressed and eventually acquiesces when placed under pressure; even when it's just from the likes of the guys. Meanwhile, Hetty doesn't. And perhaps most importantly, Nell has a large, extended family whom she is close to. As has been seen several times now, Hetty's one great personal failing in life (in her opinion) was how she never settled to have a family of her own.

In that regard, while I do suspect that Hetty is grooming Nell to be a potential successor, she is not trying to shape the latter in her image but to simply help Nell develop the skills she needs while allowing her to become a very different operations manager.

Surely they had a chopper! :D

Well I don't think Hetty sees Nell as a carbon copy other than the fact they are both short. :D I think it's more that she sees Nell as someone that can eventually run things from a management perspective and has the right mix of tools and traits to do so.

I was a bit behind on my show. This season was falling a little flat without Ziva, but the episode entitled "Devi's Triad" was the funniest in a long while. The Fornells and Gibbs ex-wife are a funny bunch, and Gibbs ex-wife must to hot to trot...lol

Wow...the show is picking up, though I'm still not a fan of the blond hair chick. I'm sure she'll grow on me, but it hasn't happened yet. I was also glad to see the return of Hollis Mann. I always liked her and thought she was a good fit for Gibbs. It's too bad things didn't work out between them.

I liked the scene with Ellie and Kate's sister this week.

Ehsan will hopefully show up in LA again! :D I also liked the little way they kept things fun with Kensi and Deeks.

NCIS is really giving McGee a hard time with the women. Although I doubt he'll be dumping Delilah, it does make his relationship with her harder.

I thought Eshan was a nice addition to the episode. He went from suspect to savior. He was a nicely written character too I thought. Seeing him again wouldn't be a bad thing.

Scott Bakula To Topline CBS’ ‘NCIS’ Spinoff
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

Scott Bakula is set to lead the cast of CBS’ NCIS planted spinoff set in New Orleans. Like the mothership series starring Mark Harmon, the spinoff too is built around a central character, NCIS Special Agent Pride, played by Bakula. Executive produced by NCIS showrunner Gary Glasberg and Harmon, spinoff is set at the NCIS New Orleans office which handles cases from Pensacola through Mississippi and Louisiana to the Texas panhandle. It centers on NCIS Special Agent Pride (Bakula), who embodies New Orleans. He’s driven by the need to do what’s right and does it all with warmth, passion, strength and humor. The planted spinoff will air as a two-part NCIS episode this spring. Quantum Leap and Men Of A Certain Age alum Bakula was recently nominated for an Emmy for his role in HBO Films’ Liberace biopic Behind The Candelabra and currently recurs on the new HBO comedy Looking. Bakula, repped by ICM Partners and Anonymous Content, has completed India-set musical Basmati Blues opposite Brie Larson and Elsa And Fred opposite Christopher Plummer and Shirley MacLaine.

Zoe McLellan Cast In CBS’ ‘NCIS’ Spinoff
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

Zoe McLellan (Dirty Sexy Money) is set to co-star opposite Scott Bakula in CBS’ NCIS planted spinoff set in New Orleans. Executive produced by NCIS showrunner Gary Glasberg and Harmon, the spinoff is set at the NCIS New Orleans office, which handles cases from Pensacola through Mississippi and Louisiana to the Texas panhandle. It centers on NCIS Special Agent Pride (Bakula). McLellan, repped by Domain, will play Special Agent Brody, a fish-out-of-water Midwestern transplant who comes to New Orleans looking for a fresh start and a safe haven to heal old wounds. The planted spinoff will air as a two-part NCIS episode this spring. McLellan played P.O. Jennifer Coates on the last four seasons NCIS predecessor JAG.

Ugh, the NCIS: Red spin-off failed, just stick with 2 series.

The Shield alumna CCH Pounder has joined Scott Bakula and Zoe McLellan in CBS’ NCIS planted spinoff. Pounder, who has been recurring on FX’s Sons of Anarchy, will play Dr. Wade “Doctor Wade,” the Jefferson Parish Medical Examiner who us as eccentric as she is smart and also is intuitive and incredibly connected to Louisiana.
Well, this one certainly makes me want to see it not get picked up. She was too perfect in her role on Sons of Anarachy last season. She's gotta be there for the final season.

I hope this fares better than Bakula's last few shows (Enterprise, Men of a Certain Age) where they struggled to maintain ratings only to ultimately fail.

LA was really good this week, I didn't see the twist coming and the scene with Nell taking the killer on was really well shot, loved the exchange between her and Deeks afterwards as well. :D

I wonder how long Kensi is gonna remain in Afghanistan and exatly why Hetty sent her out there.

Enjoyed the latest episode of NCIS, but I still don't like the new girl. She still hasn't grown on me yet.

It was obvious that Nell was going to kick that bloke's arse... It was a damn good fight scene as well.
