Yeah right, this is ESPN we're talking about where the S stands for sensationalism. Smith was probably getting high fived by ESPN execs for that.

Stephen was definitely extra, I think he's a lot more sensitive about athletes liking him than he lets on. Particularly the ones he "defends" against Skip. So...yeah he might want to watch it lol.

But he does have a point, KD is one of the most coddled superstar players I've ever seen. That one article OKC wrote being critical of him was a huge story because of how he reacted towards it, so I can't see how he'd handle being in a big market where that type of stuff happens more often than not...

That's not even what really started this. This is once again a person from ESPN claiming insider knowledge of a player's plan for free agency. Durant, whether he really spoke to Smith or not, has every right to be pissed because it's in poor taste to have one foot out the door while still under contract with a team. The same thing went on with Carmelo in Denver, LeBron in Cleveland and Love in Minnesota.

And this is a common problem only the NBA has because of the strange relationship the players have with the media. There's more speculation about off the court business stuff than there is on the court. I don't get why this is just an NBA problem. You don't really see these kinds of things in MLB, NFL or NHL. I'm just not sure if there's anything the league can do about it.

Derrick Fisher caught creeping on Matt Barnes' ex-wife. Things got physical when Barnes found out.

What bothers me about it is that Fisher left Knicks training camp to supposedly go see his daughter in LA but instead went out there for a piece of ass.

He should be apologizing to his players and fans right now for this nonsense that we are way too accustomed to and absolutely sick of with this franchise.

Fisher has always been a bit of a snake in the grass. Look at what he did to get out of Utah and Dallas.

Durant can be pissed, but at the same time, Stephen A's track record in relation to the NBA is pretty solid. He's broken a lot of stories over the years or said something that might seem outlandish at first, only to wind up being true. Not saying it's right one way or the other, but that's his job and what he does. And like Stephen said, if Durant is tired of all this talk and has no intention of going anywhere, than why hasn't he signed another deal yet? There would be nothing to talk about.

Ultimately, the reason this is an issue in the NBA is because of the impact a single player has on the organization. It's the only sport where the player's usually more marketable than the team itself, so Durant leaving (assuming Russell would ever do the same) could render OKC obsolete in no time. A true superstar quality player in the NBA is a lot more rare than they try to lead the public to believe. Each of those guys you mentioned wound up skipping town just like everyone assumed they would, so I don't know why Durant would think he'd be above speculation.

Fish and Barnes are past teammates and friends. You wouldn't love it if your supposed friend dates your ex-wife fresh off your divorce, would you?
I don't think you get a say when you you beat said ex-wife, and haven been trying to get laid in the public over the last few months. Barnes doesn't have crap to say.

That being said, completely stupid from Fisher.

Uh, was it written that he had to said every last second with his daughter? I am sure Fisher saw his daughter and his new female friend.

Granted, the Knicks gave him permission to leave the team. What bugs me is that this new regime was supposed to change the culture of the franchise and it's just more of the same tabloid fodder nonsense that's been going on for the past 15 years. I'm sick of it.

That is more then fair. You shouldn't have to deal with this stuff with the players, much less the coach. Just more bad decision making.

Hope he's okay, he's been having a rough go of it since leaving the Lakers. :(

Hope he's okay, he's been having a rough go of it since leaving the Lakers marrying a Kardashian. :(

Fixed.

Seriously though, this is sad news. He's been on a downward spiral for a long time now. The Knicks brought him in over the summer and waived him immediately because he was clearly in bad shape.

lol, ehhh...Khloe' was a "staple" at Staples for some time and he managed to win a title, wasn't until they shipped him out of town that things went haywire.

For real though, hope he gets it together, one of the more underrated and versatile players the league's ever seen...

He's still in a coma at this point, alive but his heart is failing.

He apparently had "every drug imaginable" in his system. Cocaine and track marks on his arm and was found foaming at the mouth, yeesh :(

I heard he was just using herbal Viagra. There's a lot of reports out there saying he was on a ton of drugs and that the Kardashian's brought a camera crew with them. I don't believe that at all. But between his release from the Lakers and his divorce, his life took a turn for the worse. This news has messed me up emotionally today because I really feel bad for the guy. He's supported so many people and when his life took a dive it seems like no one helped him. I met him when I was 8 at Christ The King basketball camp in NYC. This was over a decade ago but him and Eric Barkley were really nice helping us all out. Hope he can pull through and get his life together.

If that's true about the Kardashian's, that is absolutely disgusting of them to do and in all honesty I wouldn't put it past them.

That's despicable. James Harden needs to dump whatever Kardashian he's dating if he knows what's good for him.

I think it was just a rumor. They're all attention addicts but I don't think they are that despicable.
