So who were some of the adversaries of the New Mutants?

If the script is more supernatural and horror based like Boone said himself, then there's a good chance the main villain is probably Demon Bear or Belasco, given his ties to Magik. With the Hellfire Club being in First Class, they could certainly bring in the Hellions - would be a good opportunity to bring back Emma Frost.

Actually, they could mix both. Have Belasco be the big bad and Demon Bear his enforcer.

Balasco is probably the most natural candidate for main villain. This leads me to believe Majik will be the Jean grey of the NM.

Hmm, I don't know, I think Demon Bear deserves to be more then just a simple enforcer. Being that it's an entity that was created by demonically fusing together both Moonstars mother and father - that's a strong storyline for one movie in itself. I think piling that in, on top of Belasco's connection to Magik would be a little much for a first movie.

I think Demon Bear for a first outing then moving into Belasco as being revealed as the one who killed Moonstars parents and moving into his connection with Magik in a second movie would be the smartest choice.

Hellions, Limbo & The Demon Bear is a trilogy worth of villians.


They can also base a movie in Nova Roma or fight The Phalanx or The Brood.

Apocalypse already introduces us to the young team of that timeframe. I see no logical reason to have another group in the 80's. Chuck Warhead in too and keep the great costuming.

I like the casting though, if it turns out to be true. GOT geek cred is a good thing to accumilate.

remember back in his AInt it cool days he got a hold of x2 script and posted details from act one that caused excitement.I see no reason to doudt him.studio denys may nothing.

The new mutants allows them to do crossover with the younger X-Men.

Mcavory teaching new mutants and Shipp as storm having to come help the new mutants is natural in shared universe.

With Magik part of lineup chances are good magicil elements are a part of the new mutants film.that allowes it to be different than main X-Men films.

I literally cannot wait - I really want her to hit it out of the park to shut up all the haters she had to deal with when she was first cast.

Also, as far as her being in the New Mutants movie - maybe she's not actually a part of the team but Xavier brings her in to assist with him in teaching them. They could certainly portray her as older or a more senior student depending on how far along in the timeline New Mutants occurs after Apocalypse.

Yep, that July 2018 date is still there with no announced movie.

Gotcha, while I assumed that January date was for Deadpool I'm wondering if they would release New Mutants in January. Guess it depends on how well Apocalypse does but given that July date has heavier competition with Ant-Man and Wasp being a week away maybe it would be better in January?

They might be in negotiation with the actresses. Didn't Disney/Marvel deny the Cumberbatch rumors for a while? I don't think they can say anything until the actors are signed. Still, seems a bit early, no? Unless New Mutants is going to be the late 2017 movie (though I still think it's Gambit).

If there's no done deal they can't announce anything. Actors decline/lie all the time when they are not officially signed on.

The odd thing is that Fox declined very quickly. Don't think that happens that fast alot. If they are already casting with everyone in place that's what else is making me think that January 2018 might be for New Mutants, still gives them time to work around schedules.

I am thinking new mutants is probally the july 2018 film.based on williams GOT schedule they likely would need to start filming in spring of 2017.

Obviously new mutants is further along than people thought.

That 2017 date for New Mutants would definitely be pushing it but if we're getting casting for it already, I guess they could certainly make it happen. Deadpool was on a tighter schedule and I don't think New Mutants would be on as big of a scale as DoFP or Apocalypse, so they could make it work. The script looks to be done at this point so there's nothing holding them back right now.

I still don't see them using the July 2018 date for New Mutant - that's a prime spot for the next X-Men movie and they'd be kind foolish to not place one there. Especially with the fact that we'll have a classic lineup of popular characters with Jean, Cyclops, Storm, Beast, Jubilee etc.

So yea, I'm pretty much thinking it's:

March 2017 - Wolverine 3
Late 2017 - New Mutants or Gambit
January 2018 - Deadpool 2
July 2018 - Untitled X-Men Movie

They could certainly squeeze another movie into late 2018 if they really wanted too.
