I'm definitely interested in this title. I don't know who Sun Girl or Hummingbird is, or who the shirtless guy in the pic is, but I do plan to check the book out. I do like justice and Speedball, so hopefully its pretty good.

I was impressed with the first issue as well..nice round robin of most of the team and set up the threat and villians right away.

Very straitforward super hero stuff..but solid. Water sNake looks like a badass.

This book had that original series vibe that the other volumes were missing, but it is still pretty fresh at the same time. Anything with the Kaine version of Scarlet Spider is a win in my book though (well except for that horrific Minimum Carnage...)

Justice = Justice/Marvel Boy

Speedball = Speedball

Kid Nova = Replaces Rich Rider's Nova (and I vote Sam always be known as Kid Nova and Rich be known as Nova Prime. period.)

Kaine = Ben Reilly mixed with Night Trasher

Aracley = Silhouette

Water Snake = Namorita

Sun Girl = a mix of Turbo and Firestar

Haechi (the Inhuman) = not sure but he kind of looks like that dude who joined the team during the Clone Saga stuff (Helix) or he could be this team's Rage...

I've gotten the first two issues and so far it's a mixed bag. I like the cast and I do appreciate the "fast paced right to the action" tone of it, perhaps because it could be an homage to the original NEW WARRIORS #1 when a bunch of random teen heroes (plus a new one) stumbled into each other to fight Terrax. The artwork is fantastic. And yet something seems to be missing, some spark or other element I can't quite put down that keeps this book as "good" instead of "great".

Whats missing is thst it jumped right into an actual story / arc without the usual 6 decompressed issues of nothing.

This book is very traditional an really on the right track. Its good old fashion fun.
