There are better ways to show off Ollie's appeal than as a prison inmate. It blows my mind that they're even considering it. These guys did pass off The Whedon for Wonder Woman, so I guess I shouldn't be so surprised.

But then, I'm not sure I would do Ollie's origin so much to the tee, either. At this point it'd be yet another Iron Man richdouche learns humility film.

Ollie needs to be a vigilante force in Star City, with obvious comparisons to Robin Hood & a movie would have to show his resourcefulness & cunning & make him dark & disturbed...

but make him different than Batman... show him as intellectually bound...

i dunno

I would never call Ollie dark and disturbed. The guy has a feather in his cap for god's sake.

I know... I made a mistake... I just don't want him to be a wimpy peter parker clumsy clark kent type! y' know?????

give him some edginess

I thought Whedon was the one that decided to leave?

They could straight-adapt the Diggle/Jock Year One story.

Which is pretty much an Iron Man richdouche learns humility story, but on an island.

Whedon's exact words were "I would go back in a heartbeat if I believed that anybody believed in what I was doing. The lack of enthusiasm was overwhelming. It was almost staggering, and that was kind of from the beginning. I just don't think my take on Wonder Woman was ever to their liking." so I'm pretty sure he's not the one who decided to leave. He wrote a WW outline for WB and revised it several times, but they just weren't feeling it.

Another quote: "...When I asked Joel Silver, point blank, 'Well, if they don't want what I'm doing, what do they want?' he said, 'They don't know'."

Heck, To this day I get the impression that they don't really know what they want from most of their films, much less Wonder Woman. But then, it may have been for the better. Not even I was all that enthused about the sorts of preliminary ideas Whedon had been throwing around for the film.

That she wouldn't fly, and that he would be using an original villain instead of one from the comics 'cause he couldn't find one that would fit what he was trying to do. Now, WW's rogues gallery kinda suck compared to most other A-listers, but come on...who makes up their own comicbook movie villains? Especially when, in a project like this, you can basically twist and interpret any of her classic villains any way you like.

An adaptation of Diggle and Jock's Y1 would work perfectly. I like it that it doesnt have a supervillain, or even a villain who wants to destroy/rule the world or a city. Maybe a slight change to have some kind of finale in the States. Like, Ollie sees some information just before leaving the island that suggests the latest, biggest shipment has already set off for Star City. So Ollie knows he already has to begin his mission as soon as he returns in order to stop that much heroin hitting the streets and becoming untraceable and irretrievable.

The showdown finish being warehouse cat and mouse style with China White as the lead who Ollie discovers got 'lost' in the system during prisoner transport using political connections she has, which leads Ollie into his stance against the 'fat cats', the rich and powerful people who think they're above the law and can tread on the little guy. Maybe reveal the one who got her out as an old family friend who may or may not have had something to do with his parents death (however its chosen they died)

Or just have Deathstroke.

A good Green Arrow movie would focus on Connor as far as I'm concerned, so that's already out the window. I'm content to see how Supermax turns out.

So when exactly did Deathstroke become a Green Arrow villain?

I don't remember, but it was probably the worst thing to ever happen to him.

Wait, is that when he was stuck in a vat of glue?

Yeah. But not before Green Arrow literally outfought him with his super-awesome ninja skills.

And f*** you for making me remember that. :cmad:

LOL! And after Kyle Rayner tried punching him.

Nah, to the fans, Meltzer wrote that. I mean, you guys blame him for Martian Manhunter's death in the most warped use of logic ever.

Like Meltzer's brain for not putting J'onn on the team and thus being 100% directly responsible for his death. :o

I'm going to ask him about that on Saturday. You should come Corp.
