I think it's funny how many stunts DC is pulling to get people to care about Ollie; first the One Year Later mayor deal, then his marriage to Dinah, and now James Robinson' embarrassment.

I was behind the marriage, actually. Would've been nice if it lasted more than a year, though.

I wasn't, because I didn't care. Nothing about Ollie is remotely interesting to me.

Him as Mayor could have been awesome if they actually did something with it.

Primary point: Ollie as mayor didn't have a whole lot of unique potential.

Bonus point: Ex Machina is as overrated as Y: the Last Man. That is to say, extremely overrated.

I wasn't too fussed on the Mayor thing. I did like the island training because there was a logic to it - deprived of his bow or fighting in extreme close quarters, Ollie can only last so long with his previous level of fighting ability. Even Tony Stark took combat lessons from Cap for when out of his armour or it being shut down.

Loved the marriage thing. Though I didn't think they handled it well at all. Hating this murderer thing.

See, I had no problem with the mayor/island story. To me, at least, it made sense. Merlyn beat Oliver. Straight up proved he was better than him. (Almost as if, Oliver had a "downfall".) Oliver then began training to make himself not only a better Green Arrow, but a better Oliver Queen. He was able to optimize all of his strengths to bring about the maximum amount of utility. Probably at his peak to be honest. It made him believe that he was finally good enough for Black Canary. Frankly, Ollie should have retired at that point. Roy took over his duties in the league and Conner could cover Star City w/ Mia. But hey, if they had done that, we would have never gotten the Robinson masterpiece and the upcoming giant leap backwards "Rise of Arsenal."

I didn't like the island story because Green Arrow with a katana is just silly.

It bugged me because it pretty much transplanted Connor's schtick to Ollie. Not surprising Connor found himself in a coma a while later.

and they have yet to explain how he can be coordinated enough to whoop 4 or 5 guys - yet can't point an arrow downrange and come close to the target?

It also weakened every damn member of Team Arrow. Green Arrow should not be a team book. It ailed in the same manner as JSA. Too many people, not enough pages.

Agreed. There is only one hero that Dinah belongs with, and that would be Oracle. Not some peroxide blonde Errol Flynn wannabe
