The "News of the World" Hacking Scandal

there was something about perjury in the Tommy Sheridan case floating about yesterday... but i don't know if that's the reason he was arrested upon presenting himself to an appointment.

From what i understand of this, inlight of all that has happened there has been talk of a retrial due to an unfair ruling at the original case as Andy Coulston was one of the main witnesses, but no mention of any details as yet.

I think its horrible that Rebecca Brookes hasn't lost her job, although 200 of the current staff at NOTW headoffices have.

She either has some major dirt on the Murdoch clan or she's screwing one of them...

those are the only two reasons i can think of that she can logically still be employed by them.....

The whole phone-hacking scandal could turn out (and is looking like) one of the biggest scandals in recent British history.

It compromises every layer of society; the institutions on which we are meant to rely upon and trust have had their dirty laundry aired, the public are clearly reviled at what they've seen.

I guess our appetite for information has been satiated for the time being

My God anyone seen the papers this morning?

They are now claiming that they may have hacked victims of 9/11!

I mean, seriously, did they really think they were going to get away with all this.

And I can't believe Brookes hasn't been arrested let alone still has her job... Any self respecting person in this situation would resign. It proves her arrogance and immorality that she won't.

Hilarious editorial ripping the last edition of NotW.

Money quote:

"The centre pages consist of a gallery of their "greatest hits": curiously underwhelming when it's all laid out. The Profumo scandal and Jeffrey Archer are in there, but so are three "gotcha!" snaps of celebs snorting coke – one of whom, Kerry Katona, was captured by a camera hidden in her own bathroom. Call me squeamish, but I'd say concealing a lens in a woman's bathroom is worse than hacking her phone. At least voicemails can't reveal which hand she wipes her arse with."

they are saying the sun and the sunday times are in on this as well. this **** is going to blow up

They hacked former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown's phone too. By now a better question is to ask whose phone they haven't hacked?

I love how FOXNews hasn't reported on this for even one minute. What hypocrites...

A lot of the media is trying to press the PM as to his links to Coulson & Brooks...

But i have to wonder, just how connected were Blair & Brown and the former Labour rabble in all of this...

Specially as the current Labour leader has a dude who is suspected of being involved in hacking into Conservative bank accounts

Sir Paul Stephenson, commissioner of the Metro Police, resigning in wake of News Corp scandal

The guy over Scotland Yard? Holy Cow...

Two CEOs, two editors, one police commissioner and hundreds of journalists down.

Plenty of heads still to roll.

For some reason I have missed this thread, as I've been putting news in the Fox News Thread.

Anyway, as I said there, I have no words.

He was fired for having a drink & Drugs problem, which was why he blew the lid on the hacking ****....so it is probable that he has just killed himself....

but of course, he was the whistle-blower, so Rupert Murdoch must have slipped on his ninja gear and snuck into his house to exact revenge:whatever:
To be fair, the article specifically says that the death is not being treated as suspicious.

....Just like how Scotland Yard described the hacking rumors about News of the World for the last five years....I'm just saying.

I'm not saying that I believe his death isn't suspicious. That's just how it's being reported.

I have no doubt that it's gonna be nothing more than he got the amounts wrong or he'd ****ed his body up too far with all the drink & drugs....

... but the media will ignore that.... just like they've ignored the fact that Milliband has a dude in his comms Dept that is suspected of hacking Tory bank accounts.... and that Labour were in power while the hacking **** was going ahead....

Apparently the Sun newspapers website was meant to have been hacked by someone and was re-directing people to a fake story of Murdoch's death

I don't know about his death and was just playing the fence. I'll wait to see how the story comes out. But it is a pretty big coincidence and one I hope is explored. Because right now it sounds like the script to a Tony Gilroy movie (Michael Clayton, The Bourne Ultimatum). Again, just saying.
