I'm going to cast my vote for Tom Holland. Asa Butterfield I believe looks more suited to playing Harry. As for Dylan O'Brien, maybe they could cast him as Eddie Brock?

*Internet high 5* Tom Holland for Spidey

Coincidence...or Joincidence? (Friends reference :o)
Dylan O'Brien for Spider-Man in a Teen Wolf-Spider-Man cross over! He can play Stiles, who's first name is really Peter, and he learns he was adopted by his Sheriff Dad and his biological parent's last name was Parker. (Both biological parents have died)
It would be a hit! :o
Not to mention, werewolves can replace Wolverine in the MCU. :woot:

If they are going with the older reporter jealous of the new kid at the Bugle and somehow blames Spider-Man for his career going downhill, I can totally see it.

I'm not even joking, haha. I think it could be a interesting direction, also, Dylan O'Brien could end up been Venom. I don't know if he can pull it off, but in theory I wike it.

Well, at least fans would get to see him as a large character -- even if he's not the titular character.

channing tatum for eddie brock.

Another day and still no where lol. As for the short list. I still don't feel the 5 that much. But If they are last guys. I don't feel Tom or Liam at all for peter.

Asa tim and not see more fitting st role for different reasons. But still ideally I don't or wouldn't want them for role.

And like others have said look how many times a name come in at start or end not talked about for x role and x actor scores the role. Likely could be case here.

As for dylan and filming potential conflicts if he was picked. The thing is we don't know for sure when tw 5b is filming yet right. Likely won't be to late summer early fall. Same with the berg film it hasn't been said when he be filming or how long he be in that. And if the bit from Jeff article is that spidey scenes not filming to june. Maybe dylan if he has the role. Shoots spidey first. Which still likely just be a few days or a week or two max. And then goes films the berg film. And then tw and the press stuff for next maze runner.

As for spidey role in civil war I still firmly thing it can't just be a simple small cameo. He doesn't need to be a big role like cap stark panther will be. But I feel it be more on par to dofp quicksilver. Have like 2 normal scenes. And then one big kickass wow moment. A big money shot as spidey for marvel. And a few scenes with peter getting or meeting stark and cap and so forth. No way spidey be just oh big fight scene and out of blue spidey just shows up.
It would feel a bit strange to give spiderman a substantial role before his first movie even debuts. I mean, black widow was a main character in IM2, but she never had her own feature film. stuff like that, you know.

but I feel you on that first statement. they gotta tell us who peter is like, now.

Hollywood wants to know:

I dont wike it.
They should choose someone for other roles that fit those roles best, they shouldnt just fill the cast full of not-picked-for-spidey-actors. Honestly, Dylan would be perfect for spiderman and 'ok' for harry. I personally wouldnt want him for harry though, there are people to choose who would fit the role better. That being said, him being most any other roles would not work well. I'm no Dylan fanboy, I just think he would be such a perfect pp/sm that it would be a shame for him to be turned down. Otherwise I think he's a funny actor, and as far as that goes I do like him, but I also like Asa, who would not be as great for the sm role.

Ugh I really dislike the actors in the short list, if I had to pick I would go with Tom Holand and Timothee Chalamet. Nat Wolff is a good actor but I don't think he looks the part.

I hope they just announce the guy soon...they have to know that this topic is getting really hot with the talk of cap3 and these shortlists and of course the o'brien followers

:wow: We're on part 14 already?! Wow.

Thread 13 took less than two days to pass by. :p
All we need is for Marvel/Sony to confirm/debunk Sneiders top 5 wish short list and we will go hyperspeed! Actually probably only if they debunk it... if they confirm it it will get to the boring old "who is the best of a narrowed down bad bunch?"

We should start a #. It can be #AnnounceSpideyActorNow
er something...
Or we could all just leave this thread until the actor is announced, then we can all come back when he is announced. That way none of us miss anything by being gone, but we all stop the crazy loop and endless discussion!

Personally, I think it will be the other way around. at least if Marvel confirmed the shortlist, we'd know that we're making "some" type of progress instead the same old speculating.

No other studio ever has ever confirmed a short list.

Maybe Logan Lerman instead. Eddie Brock doesn't require a motor mouth actor.

Don't we all know that #IfNotPeterThenHarry is a rule here at SHH :cwink: :woot:

I'm just going to say this, Marvel has to be careful when picking this SPider-Man. They pretty much struck gold with Daredevil in Charlie Cox, something that both the GA and comic book fans can agree on, but it seems like newcomer to the MCU Aaron Taylor Johnson seems to be a miss for the GA, whereas the comic book fans seem to like him. The GA tend to like the Quicksilver from DOFP, even though comic book fans don;t like him because he is nothing like the comics.

So who will win this debate in the end, something for the GA or something for the comic book fans?
