Zero Brien will require acting coach AND drama coach, as well as likeability coach.

You've clearly seen very little of his work.

I've asked this repeatedly, can we please not bash actors on here? I'm not a fan of Asa for PP/SM, but I'm not going to name call or bash his acting chops. He's clearly talented. Dylan is talented as well or he wouldn't be in this business and getting bigger and bigger roles. Other actors gush about his talent all the time.

Just watched the Conan clip and I gotta say that kid is a Steve Ditko drawing come to life. And he's a great actor. Not sure what the problem is.

Hope he gets it.

Well he's not because I hate him and his fans are crazy and he's too old, so don't support him because you're not allowed to :o

I thought you said Asa looks and acts nothing like Peter Parker a few months back? Doesn't that contradict your "looks are subjective" thingy?
O'Brien Fever was strong on me.. good thing I finally woke up to reality.

Edit; Nevermind.
My niece is a freshman and she thought Dylan was 16. She was terribly disappointed when she found out he was 23. She's just now grasping the concept that most of the time actors on TV or in movies are older than the characters they play. Poor kid.
Me and my brother both agree that Dylan O'Brien doesn't look like a 15 year-old.

The problem is O'Brien or bust!!! :cmad:

100% agreed, Asa would perf for the role.

Btw, how did you know that if you joined in late March?

I lurk.

And when has any 20 year old playing a teen EVER actually looked like a teen? Why does it all of a sudden matter so much now? Why would the world come to an end if a 23 year old is cast as a 16 year old? Andrew was 28, portraying a 17 year old... Dylan would be a 23 year old portraying a 16 year old, O'Brien has the clear advantage.

Because this Peter is going to be in High-School longer than both Garfield and Maguire. Feigue wants to spend more time and explore that dynamic better.

Plus when Peter finally does reach his early twenties, Dylan O'Brien will be in his early 30s, most likely look it.

Do you really want another Garfield-esque situation?

If Dylan's the man for the job and Marvel knows it, his age shouldn't be a problem. Besides, they're only gonna be able to have Pete in HS for 2 films. Dylan would be 26-27 by then and still younger than Garfield was after ONE film. Dylan moving onto college at 26-27 (only 1-2 years older than Grant Gustin who also plays a college-aged character) wouldn't be a Garfield-esque situation, he looks younger than Andrew too... So that's a plus right there.

Dylan only looks slightly younger than Garfield did in 2010 and he's 3 years younger. (Garfield was 27 when he got cast)

and how do we know Dylan will look exactly the same in five years? he already looks nothing like a 15 year-old kid, he'll probably look even older come 2020. Marvel would have to move him into College sooner than later just like Garfield and they'd have to recast after the fourth movie.

Asa could do TWO trilogies before he even reaches 30

Two trilogies in HS?

Sony's films will likely be where we get the most focus on the character's HS life, and there's no reason that I can see why they can't keep him in HS as long as they deem appropriate since whatever Marvel Studios does with him isn't going to affect his school life.

You do know that these are Marvel's AND Sony's films, right? Both studios are involved creatively, essentially merged into one. They'll agree on a direction and take the character that way. Marvel's vision will be Sony's vision and vice versa.

Two trilogies in HS?
First trilogy: first two films in High-School with Peter graduating at the start of the third film.

Second trilogy: Peter in College for the fourth film with him graduating at the beginning of the fifth film. final/6th film could be a "Death of Spider-Man" adaptation.

@MyDudeSpidey: In spite of retaining full final creative control of the character, Sony is allowing Marvel Studios to use him as they see fit in Civil War and beyond, while they themselves get to do likewise in the character's solo films and beyond. Kevin Feige is the liaison who will ensure that neither studio steps on the other's toes creatively.

Good layout. But I don't think they'll kill Peter off that soon. Marvel has way too many stories at their disposal and they can keep telling them for decades with different actors. They'll milk Peter for as long as they can and then probably kill him off to introduce Miles. They might even bring him back for a Spider-Verse film.

I think the 6th film would be perfect time to adapt the "DOS" along with Sinister Six.
have Peter go out fighting, trying to defend Aunt May and MJ.

Introduce Miles in the fourth film so him becoming Spider-Man wouldn't come out nowhere

If that were so, I wouldnt keep repeating the same things over and over.

The facts disagree with you.

The facts is PR. Sony's ego is too huge for them not to be labeled as the studio with "complete creative control".
