For me as I said before I got no hate for asa. Fine up and coming actor. I just don't like his look and what he likely will look like through his contract time. And the type of actor he is. Vs what Kevin has said he wants pete and spidey.

This is where tom fits the bill better in my books. He is more lively and warm and like others said that goofy likeable type. And I feel a bit more happy with him. Even though ultimate tom and asa aren't my ideal pick. But in end I do hope who ever can deliver on pete and spidey sides.

As for peter look ditko is great and all. But his time was so short on spidey. For me I take romita and on as the look I want peter to be.

As for hs trilogy stuff. I still can't see a 3 film series fully in hs here. First with how mcu time goes. 2nd if we get films out at 17 19 and 21. A nice 2 yrs between films. It just would not work. With f we know pete is freshmen in civil war which is set in 2016. And if thst he be a senoir by 2020. I still only see 2 solo films in hs. No way they can push it more.

Yeah, 15-16 is a heck of a push for him. I think he could pull of a high schooler but not one that young. That said, I loved the trailer.

Asa's dad looks like the really weedy pictures of Bruce Banner that we sometimes get, a bit like how Kirby drew him and how John Byrne portrayed him as well. Asa looks like he could grow into that when he's older instead of a more Romita-esque Peter Parker, which is where the Ditko Parker headed as he matured.

DOB (or any other actor) doesn't have to look like a real-world 15-16 yo imo. I don't even know why they'd be going for that.. Regardless of wanting HS films, which I'm fine with. I would say that 80-90% of movies set in HS and based on HS kids features actors who don't look anything near real-world HS kids

Surround them with people who look the same, whatever that age may be (as long as it's clearly under looking like they're 30 or something), and it's fine

If that picture does not resemble a Ditko PP, in which he is not attempting to portray any version of PP I might add, then DOB or TH definitely do not even have a chance of coming any closer.


(Not saying YOU personally like DOB or TH, just trying to make a point for those that do.)

You could put that (very common) haircut and glasses on dozens of people, and you could arguably say they look like that CB picture of Peter. That's all I'm saying.

Other than those 2 things (which are interchangeable and reproducible for almost any living male), Asa looks nothing like PP, in that picture or any other. Not saying that whoever's cast as Peter needs to look like he's ripped from the comics, we've seen that in recent castings and I'm personally fine with it. All I'm saying is, just talking puring about looks, and disregarding how he'd actually be in the role, you just can't say Asa looks like any of the typical versions of PP

If you look at pictures of Dylan at PaleyFest, you could easily see him passing for a 16-17 year old, minus the stubble, obviously. It's all in how he's made up.

Asa does bare some resemblance to that Parker, but any rendition since? Nope.

Still, he's the best actor of the supposed shortlist imo, so his looks are irrelevant.
