Nah, this always happens with the casting of a lead role . If anything, this is particular casting debate is probably one of the more calm debates i've seen here or anywhere. Given that just a few months ago fans were saying that they would boycott if Garfield replaced in the role, i'm more surprised at how many Spiderman fans are willing to accept a new actor. I think what makes this a bit different is that you have a large group of fans who want one actor in particular when normally fans are a bit more disperse across several different choices which hence leads to more bickering and every fan choice rejected.

Then again, most of the flaming and moaning happens after the casting as opposed to before, so this is just the calm before the storm.

Somebody's favorite for Spidey is the actor that he/she wants to see the most. Not who's more likely to end up cast.

"Unfortunately, I want to be right at all costs... I want to make sure I have enough eggs in each basket so whoever gets the role I can say I was rooting for them the entire time. Also, I post countless times about wanting each more than the other. People think I change my mind a lot, but that's not the case. It's so I have evidence of loving all the actors at some point, and them being my favorite. That way when one gets cast I can go back and show that I liked the one more than the other... Even though I still secretly want Dylan.
