Homecoming The Next Spider-Man - - - - - - - - - Part 18

No, I loved TASM2 just as much lol. Wtf happened, why did they get panned so bad?!? :csad: :argh: :waa:

TASM (despite flaws) was a masterpiece (and TASM2), especially compared to almost all the MCU films... I just don't get it. So much heart and emotion. Freakin brilliant

I completely agree, never understood why it got so much hate.

the ruining of dr. kafka, the incredulous/unconvincing vendetta electro develops for spiderman, peter/harry scene & all the other potential cut scenes from the film, the waste of the rhino character, and probably more. i said asm2 is the best spiderman movie, but it certainly isn't without flaws.

For me:
Spider-Man 2 is the best 'movie'.
Amazing Spider-Man 2 has the best 'Spider-Man'.

I still can't believe they actually used "gone gone gone" in the film.

For me:

Amazing Spider-Man 2 has the best 'Spider-Man' experience of all the films.

Fixed it so it can suit my feelings. I hold TASM2 over SM2, but SM2 is the better made 'film'. I just personally enjoy the characters of TASM2 much more than SM2.

Max/Electro was just a nut, so his whole vendetta was easy to buy considering this was the same guy who shaved himself while talking to a picture of Spider-Man on his mirror.

That'd be like dating someone (who you don't know is obsessed with you), breaking it off, and discovering that they want you dead because you broke their heart. Romance aside (more like friendship), that was Electro. Very basic and nothing too crazy (no-pun intended).

As for everything else, the cut scenes really upset me, since they just added so much more to the film and would've only strengthened it. Rhino has always been a throwaway villain, so it didn't bother me that they reduced him to the last few minutes of the film.

Dr. Kaftka was cringe-inducing. :funny:

he was a weirdo and he was lonely but having the police shoot at him for a second wasn't a convincing enough reason for me to buy why he started hating spiderman after that.

That wasn't why he started hating Spider-Man.

The moment he changed his mind about him was when Spidey saved dozens of citizens from being fried due to Electro freaking about his new-found abilities, and all the broadcasts in Times Square changed from Electro (when he actually felt noticed and accepted in his weird mind) to Spidey (to which Electro thought he was taking the spotlight off of him and onto himself, hence the "You're so selfish." line)

A simple villain with a simple motivation. Nothing spectacular or thought provoking, but he wasn't meant to be.

I absolutely hated TASM, and given everything I heard about TASM 2, I fully expected to hate that as well.

But, to my surprise, I actually enjoyed it more than TASM and it wasn't as bad as I had expected.

TASM = Terrible Amazing Spider-Man :p

No! :p

Its pretty easy to see why ASM 2 gets hate. It was panned by critics, the villains were awful, bad musical choices , It wasn't even so much a Spiderman film as Sony's "Lets try to incorporate every popular franchise at the moment" film, the film didn't make as much money as even the last one did etc. In the end , Sony basically ended the franchise themselves by writing it into a corner. With Norman and Gwen dead, basically resolving the Richard Parker mystery, and tieing the rest of the Rouges gallery to Oscorp, and. Those spell "This franchise is over". Its no mystery to me why it got such a negative reception and why its over.

Garfield and Stone were good , and had they not been in the film, then it probably would have been worse.

Well, most critics liked it. :oldrazz:

no, that's not how i remember it. he did call spiderman selfish but once the police shot at him is when he really got ticked off.

I wonder what would happen if the shortlist was like this: Aramis Knight, Robbie Kay, Max Records, Charlie Rowe and Thomas Horn

I will rewatch "Extremely Loud..." tonight and see how great of an actor that Jeopardy kid really is.

Dylan is in Atlanta.

Agreed, TASM 2 is awful...just awful. Complete cash grab and a disgrace to Spider-man.
