this would be just one scene in the movie, preferably near the beginning

not the whole plot

In that case, sounds wonderful :D though it might be a little jarring after when they ditch that story telling style

Donald Glover. They should've done it last time, they have another chance. It'd be perfect.

He might be a smidge too old now though. It's such a shame because he would have been amazing.

I hope they get someone who actually looks like he could be in high school this time not a guy nearly in his thirties. This isn't Grease.

My feelings about Andrew Garfield.

Dude, even if the next guy is super great.. you'll be MY Spider-Man. Even if the next guy is a direct adaption of the comics, you'll be my favourite. I know it's jumping the gun a little, but hey... even if Ben Affleck's Batman is great, I'll always prefer Keaton.

So here's to Andrew.

The Amazing Spider-Man.

(now get Mr. O' Brien in there)

Eh.

This is sweet vindication for me. I remember all the days I spent being berated by other Spidey fans on why I was wrong for thinking TASM series being ill conceived. That horrid patchwork costume for the first TASM was the first red flag amongst other mounting crap that happened.

This is playing in my head right now:

Miles teller would have been my choice but that aint happening anytime soon.

My choice

I like the look of Dylan O'Brien but have yet to see him in anything. I'll watch Maze Runner sometime this week.

I am truly gutted Garfield is done as Spidey, he was perfect for the role and he truly loved it.

I really think Marvel/Sony are making a mistake not keeping him on, the character is free to go whereever after the events of the AMS2. Also call me crazy but I think those two films could easily a lot into the MCU.

Recasting is gonna be tough but Dylan O'Brien would be my choice from those mentioned. Love the guy on Teen Wolf.

The Amazing Spider-Man.
Perfectly said, I couldn't have put it any better than that. :')

Hear, hear!

Honestly he encapsulated everything that was needed for an actor to play PP/Spidey. Tobey was cast to play Spider-Man but it never quite felt like him to me. Too much nerd for my taste in this superhero, which is why I really liked Garfield's approach more. He was still smart, and while not the coolest guy, definitely not the supernerd like Tobey did. Webb didn't quite knock it out of the park with the second film, but i loved the first. Raimi failed on his 3rd outing, and wasn't crazy about the 1st. I'll say the 2nd one was quite good though (still too much nerd acting Parker from Tobey).

I'd be fine with Jack Falahee ("How to Get Away With Murder") but of course we don't know how old Spidey will be in MCU...

Casting the perfect Peter Parker is tricky... the thing is, Peter was never a bad looking guy, it's just that he had a layer of nerd and awkwardness which made him unpopular. The reader got to realize that Peter was in reality a pretty cool guy, which adds to us wanting the other characters to understand him too. But in highschool personality and looks don't always translate to popularity if people think you're weird and geeky. And when a guy is smart and funny, others start to notice that later in the game. Peter still needs to be somewhat of an underdog after that development, but at that point it's more complicated than being bullied by highschool jocks, especially in the wild life of Spider-man

Dylan O'Brien is the best choice if they go back to a younger Spiderman. Don't like Logan Lerman at all.

Andrew Garfield was perfect IMO, that is the one thing that sucks about this deal.

I like his look, kind of doe-eyed, which could pass off for PP. Is he a good actor though? He doesn't have anything which stands out for me

I mentioned this in the Civil War thread, but thought it would be relevant here too.

I know that Civil War won't be about secret identities, and hopefully Spider-Man won't be unmasking to the public, but could there be a kind of meta-unmasking of sorts? What I mean by that is that, could Marvel and Sony not announce the Spider-Man actor and only have him unmask to the theatre-going public for the first time so that this is the first time we actually see the actor's face and who is playing him? Could they keep it a mystery until then?

no offense or anything, but how is O'Brien the best choice? sure he kinda looks like Peter, but he hasn't exactly proven his acting abilities. he seems like a very mediocre actor to be honest. I'll have to watch Maze Runner to decide for sure but it's not like he's prime material like many people around here say

I know he (Thwaites) was cast as one of the leads in the new Pirates flick.

You know what would be like super fun? Having the actor appearing mask on in the end credits scene of Age of Ultron, and then finally when Civil War has a panel, he comes in with costume on and does that unmasking thing

the hype would be sensational
