this came from another site-
am i the only one who hates nicholas cage!he only has one good movie and he isn't good in it. he keeps getting these great roles and he makes them horrible with his overdone acting! the teaser trailer even shows his acting "skill" as a heavy breather, whoooooo electrifying. I swear to my religious leader if nick cage ruins ghost rider one of my favorite comic book heros i'll rip my hair out of my scull! i'd honestly rather see someone like morgan freeman play the role if i had to choose between the 2. i say we boycot bad acting who's with me!!!
eff that !! i think cage will do pretty good.

I agree. Not to be harsh, but I find it silly that people would come here and think that there wasn't a thread about Nic...

Regardless, welcome to the section. Stick around!

As for Nic, I was totally against him at first but, that was when I was still pushing for Dan. Now that I know MSJ's vision a little better, I think Nic'll be great!

In the end, the selling point for me is the tone of this movie. It's the look, the images. I think what's going to sell this movie is the imagery, not Nic. It's MSJ's blending of the best of all the Ghost Riders worlds and making it work. I love Nic. He's brilliant and, as an actor, I admire him greatly but, he's not what I'm going to see this movie for.

ive been a fan of many of Cage's films since Wild at Heart...some were good some not but Cage always made his characters interesting/enjoyable to watch.

i will admit i didnt like the idea of late 30s/early 40 Blaze riding a motorcycle....but the more i heard how they were treating Blaze like a near middle aged, road weary, cynical hero i felt Cage would have no problems w/ the role.
another plus is his knowledge of the character...at the very least he will get completely involved in the part. thats what i want...not some pretty boy actor who just shows up for a paycheck.
i can remember all the heat Michael Keaton got for being picked for Batman...people kept saying "hes wrong for the part...he doesnt look like Wayne/Batman...its Mr. Mom!" it went on and on....until the movie came out.
Wayne is a much more developed character than Blaze...more history, more fans. 17 years later and now people look back on it as a "classic" praising Keaton's performance.
just give it a chance people....

anyone who hates nic cage is not worthy of being called human

he IS johnny blaze...just like Affleck was DD...MSJ has the best possibly way of casting for these movies, in finding actors who love the characters and writing the roles specifically for there strengths

I was a little worried when i first heard of him being cast to play JB, but every footage i see just prove to me he is the perfetc choice for the role.

I totally agree.. Nic has gone from a worry in my eyes, to the only person who could play JB.

Guys, I wanted to bump this again as I think it's a rather important discussion that I'd like to have with people I've come to call friends.

So far, I can't really judge what 'World Trade Center' is going to be about or what exactly it's going to show but, I do have faith that it will shed a little light on the truth behind 9/11. Stone is known to be contraversial and I believe elements of this movie could very well be that. I read one review that says he indeed has explosions happening (or being heard) in the WTC's which the officials deny ever happened even though there are countless eyewitness reports saying that it did and even video showing dust and smoke rising from the base of the buildings when the fire was happening much higher up. If you're not familiar with the alternate theory, it is believed that the WTC's, all three of them that fell, were instead brought down by controlled demolion and not just the planes and a lot of evidence has been gathered to support that theory.

Anyway, I'm gonna go see this opening day. Until then, I'll reserve my judgement on what I really think about it...

I saw the trailer and i think Nic is doing a great performance here.

Just like Stan and Kyle in the Christopher Reeve Ep. of South Park." Im soo staying out of this one"...

LoL. Probably a good idea. I probably shouldn't have even brought the topic up.

As for Nic, yeah, I'm sure he'll be great in this one. I just hope it's something he can be proud of in a few years...

I'm not going to see this film. Not that I don't think it will be a good movie, but I just don't care anymore.

I hear about the WTC everyday, to the point of naseum due to the fact that I live in NYC. I have to hear all the time about the tragedy and the freedom tower.

It might sound cold, but I didn't lose anyone in the collapse, thankfully, and it's been shoved down my throat so much I just can't take anymore.

I won't forget, but I don't need a reminder either.

and then this:

Nicolas Cage is Liberace
Posted by Clint Morris on July 28, 2006
Personally, thought it’d be Elvis (judging by his look at Comic Con, you’d think he was already in pre-production on such a film - - seriously, The King would sue!), but according to TMZ, Nicolas Cage is attached to star as gay entertainer ‘Liberace’ in a big-screen biopic.

The project, which Cage’s Saturn Films production company will produce, is based on a script by Aaron Seltzer and Jason Friedberg, of “Date Movie” fame (!).

No studio has picked up the project yet, but with Cage on board, it’s likely that the offers will be swimming in within days.

oh crap...i thought i was going into the Ghost Rider forum, sorry people #walks out the door backwards waving#

well i wasn't meaning to be a downer or any thing, i just haven't liked him in alot of things, his comedys are pretty good but the action movies that he's been in just haven't been great in my opinion.

Whether the skeptics like it or not, he's in it. Nicolas Cage is a great actor, and I thoroughly enjoyed his movies. Especially Lords of War, which is my all time favorite Cage movie.

He has great on screen charisma and charm that can't be touched by the likes of Ben affleck. As for him being John Blaze, I was always against it, but this is Ghost Rider we're talking about.

I've been waiting for this movie for 10 years, and if God wills, I'll be there in Feb to watch it in all his fiery glory!

O K im in.....New found respect for you MM. In a day where theories abound about every single major event in our lives, including 9/11. Sometimes its just what it is. No more, no less. i dont believe every cop is a racist. I dont believe our ENTIRE Gov. is corrupt. I dont believe Kennedy was assasinated by the CIA. But most of all i dont believe 9/11 was our Gov. fault. The aftermath that we are involved in may not be ideal. But inherently i believe that over the long haul, we are a pretty good country. We have our faults, big and small. But over all were pretty good. Maybe thats why our Founding Fathers put in our D.O.I "to form a MORE perfect union". Not perfect, because no country is perfect. But we should strive to be the best we can be, as a country and as individuals.. Just my 2 cents...D ps, FH I also dont think your wrong to question anything. Keep on doing that. Its people like yourself that reminds others like myself to allways question Authority. Our Gov., our media, and ourselves.. Props to both of you.....D

You brought up some great points MM. The US is capable of soo much good, and at times really steps up to the plate. And at other times its like, DAMN!!! We really screwed up here.. Today is a very scarry time to live. As it was for people living in the depression inbetween 2 World Wars. Or during the Cuban Missle Crisis. Or Vietnam. Today we have Terrorism, and the Arab/Israili confilict. But defining times in World History always come from how those involved handle difficult conflicts. So far, we as a world have done a pretty good job. Were still here right?? D

Anyone who went into a flaming building to save anybody is a superhero to me. In terms of the gov't involvement in 9/11, if it was something for us to know, eventually the truth would come out. Truth has a way of showing itself in different ways.

Regardless of Nicolas Cage's remarkeable talent at acting, it will not change the fact that 5 years after 9/11, Osama is still free, most of Afghanistan is still lawless, and instead of preventing terrorism, we have actually inflamed more people in the Middle East than before 9/11...I won't even go into the fact that right now Lebanon is experiencing it's own 9/11...

But can you really blame Israel? Theyve been Rocketed and suicide bombed for 30 years. In fact Hezbula invented suicide bombing in Israel. Israel gives up the West Bank, and they get bombed. They give up Gaza, and they get bombed. both areas are higher than the rest of Israel, so now its easier for the terrorists to rocket them. Not to mention that after Israel gave up those areas, its not like the terrorists moved in and built schools, and roads. They tore all the houses down and turned it into a craphole. Lebenon would be soo much better off without the "state within a state" by allowing a terrorist org. in its Government. I hope Lebenon will get thru this difficult time, because they were on the right track to become a major voice of reason in an otherwise unreasonable part of the world.....This really Sux D

I really shouldn't have bumped this thread. I'm very passionate about this topic and have talked about it with thousands of people since February. I've had my debates and shared my information and have now reached a point that debate is pointless. People who believe whatever they believe are near impossible to shift away from that belief.

What I do suggest to those here who I've come to know as friends is to look at all the facts surrounding 9/11. Look into the history of CIA. Look into already known 'inside jobs' that elements of the US Government has achieved in the past and then make your decision based on that. That's what I did. 7 months of daily research, just under 100 videos/documentaries and one hell of a gut feeling makes me believe nothing other than my own personal belief that elements of the US Governmet did indeed carry out the events of 9/11 and have been using it ever since to justify everything they done. This isn't limited to the endless war. It also include the Patriot Act which, if you didn't know, gives the government the right to enter and search your homes without a search warrent and even arrest you without telling you why. This is only 2 examples of the freedoms that you've lost since 9/11 and there's many more, let alone what's to come with the next 'terrorist attack'.

Look folks, I love you guys. I really do. You've come to be really good friends of mine and hope you don't look at me any differently for thinking the way I do. It's just that I know this earth of ours is in a complete mess and it pains me every single day to go on living in a world that is filled with so much disception, hate and war. I've had my breakdowns after coming to my conclusions. I hid in my room for a week not knowing what to do but having an overwhelming urge to do something but, unfortunatly, the only thing I can do is talk about it... which is more difficult than you think. I've been called everything under the sun since February and I've ran into a lot of people with their heads in the sand refusing to see whats directly in front of them. It's frustrating but worse, it saddens me. My heart aches.

Pretty soft for a Ghost Rider fan eh?...

Look, I just want, scratch that, NEED you guys to understand that my belief does not go against Americans. I do not hate my neighbors to the south. I don't hate anyone. My fight is against those in your Government who has turned your country to **** and has made just about the entire world hate you. Your Government, which refuses to even consider your consitition, has hijacked you and the only thing that I'm holding onto is my belief in the true America spirit. I admire the American pride and I know the public will not let this crap go on much longer.

Besides, this isn't a US thing. It's global. There are powers that be in this world who wish to unite everything under one global government and have been working to do this for 300 years or more. North America will be thier hardest achievment but, that doesn't mean they can't achieve it if we don't do something about it. Do some research into the North American Union, which plans are well under way. This is even in mainstream media these days. If you're not familiar, it's basically a plan to unite all of North America into one union. They even have plans for an Amero which will be our new curreny. They have plans for a 12 (or more) lane superhighway running from the Mexican border to the Canadian one. This Union is the reason why the borders have never been secured, before, during or after 9/11. All the information is out ther folks. Check it out.

Anyway, I digress....

I just hope that enough people are awake when the next inside job happens on western soil. Mark my words, it's coming and probably sooner than we all think. Just keep your eyes and ears open folks and look for the signs and for the creators sake, don't believe the media. Seek out what you want to know.

Please, please don't look at me any differently. I'm the same guy with an opinion that you probably didn't know I had. Albiet a strong one but, just an opinion none the less.

For now, I'll just cross my fingers about World Trade Center and hope that it's not like United 93 was... propaganda.

Got it.

Morpheus: “I stand here without fear because I remember… I remember that for one hundred years we have fought these machines. I remember that for one hundred years they have sent their armies to destroy us. And, after a century of war I remember that which matters most: We are still here.”

Probably one of the best lines in Matrix Reloaded. Anyways...

We are still here, but many are not however. When we started this war, America seemed to rejoice when those first bombs were dropped on Afghanistan. Now, some years later, we don't even need to drop bombs cause they're already strapped to suicide bombers inside of buses.

Having watched the movie, Paradise Now very recently, that movie really exemplifies the lifestyle, to a person such as myself. To believe in something so much that you're willing to sacrifice your life in the name of your belief; though there was a twist at the end which I won't say outright as to not ruin the movie, but to have that much courage and victor in yourself and friends is truely amazing. That said, I'm not in ANY WAY proclaiming what these people do is right in ANY WAY, I restate. It's simply a movie, and a very good one at that.

Moving forward a little bit, this war in the Middle East has been raging on for hundreds of years, and even before then. The United States is trying to lend a hand to stop the chaos, but it's obviously not going right. Combine that with WOMD talk and false hopes, and it's easy to see why Americans and other people worldwide are not happy with our efforts. The bottom line -- results. There have been a few captures, Saddam Hussein for one, and a few leading members of Al-Queda. But, like M_S said (relating to his below post), Osama is still wandering around, much of Afghanistan is still in turmoil, and there are more disasters then ever... or so it seems. There have always been "disasters" whether it be Pearl Harbor, 9/11, or the bombing of Heroshima and Nagasaki. My point is, that these threats and actions are being brought to the mainstream now, though it does involve sadly the loss of thousands of good souls and good citizens.

In what is supposed to be a future of Hovering cars, teleportating walls, and peace -- it seems that we have everything but. There is the same amount of chaos now that there was during the previous World Wars. Terrorism is still alive and well and lives are still being lost. Instead of hovering cars, we have cars that are running at $3/gallon gasoline and we live in an world where the top company in the world... is, get this... a gasoline and oil company -- Mobile Exxon. Oddly enough, 9 of the top 10 companies in the world are automobile or gasoline related. The lone other company, Wal-Mart. (From Fortune Magazine's Global 500 list).

The world just seems to be going backwards with no sight of peace or a Jetson-esque lifestyle. Now that the mainstream world knows and cares about these disasters, the only question which remains is; will the world ever be peaceful and when?
You bring up many good points as usual MM.... Since i hate going to bed with heavy thoughts lingering in my mind, ill just leave you all with this thought.......When i think about the world and the problums we face. Or how dark our own lives can become. One thing comes to mind and my grey skies turn to sunshine. IT COULD BE WORSE!!! You could be a siamese twin with a gay brother sharing one A**hole....and tonight is date night..... Smile guys, its only life.....D

I'm really glad he got that role. He'll be perfect.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, no worries man.

Have you ever seen Face/Off? Brilliant action movie where Cage is simply amazing in it.
