The Night Of | HBO Miniseries

So we've now got 4 major suspects:

1. Nasir, who might just be an idiot but all the stuff he's doing in prison makes him look guilty.

2. Scowling silent dude with the loudmouth friend

3. Creepy, woman-hating undertaker

4. Stepdad sleazeball.

It could easily be any of them. But I feel like if they want to have the end of this show be mind-blowing, it should be someone else we haven't even thought of. Who that could be though, I have no idea.

I think the most likely suspect is the girl herself.

Is every body forgetting the fact that when the girl met with Nas, she seemed like she wanted to die/was suicidal?

I wouldn't at all be surprised if she got high and stabbed herself to death (a stretch, I know but drugs can have people perform some pretty amazing things) or, she hired someone to kill her. She lived in a rich house and money didn't seem to be an issue....

LOL, I don't know about the girl stabbing herself to death, but yeah, I could see her hiring someone to kill her, like Silent Scowling Dude.

Although maybe if she did some bath salts something like her stabbing herself might have happened.

I'm loving this show, but Naz's prison choices have really frustrated me. Especially the tattoos. That's one of the dumbest decisions ever.

He's doing what all humans do; he's adapting to his environment. It's a common survival rule; you adapted or die out. If he didn't adapted he'd probably be dead already. Not to mention he seems to feel like the odds are stacked against him as far as the investigation is concerned. He has a glimmer of hope and faith in the Indian lawyer, but i think he feels like he needs to think long term in case things don't go his way. So, instead of sticking out like a sore thumb, he adapted by blending in and evolving to the prison life style. If you notice he doesn't seem to be walking around looking intimidated and scare any longer either…..

He's damned either way. Least he can do is survive in the meantime.

I can buy the she hired someone but no way she stabbed herself. Forensics, etc. wouldve been able to tell that she did that early on

this is the penultimate episode tonight right? flying by lol

An episode that would have been ten times better if there was no stupid lawyer/client make out scene

Yeah that was kinda silly.
This has to be the most interesting how that follows the most stupid people.

Can't believe next week it's all over.
I feel like this show/the people in it don't follow up on leads. What happened to Duane Reade? I know he was mentioned this episode but what the hell? Why didn't Tutorro tell anyone that the step father threatened him?

for a penultimate episode, it was kind of weak. it was a good episode and all, but really didn't do much for me

I'm still loving Stone with the cat. I knew he was going to keep it even when he didn't need to. :)

Or, he's allowing his "true self" to manifest and shine through. As we continue to learn more about Naz, it has become clear that there is more to him than the simply "nice, harmless Pakistani student" we thought he was when the series began. He obviously has some deep-rooted anger issues, among other things.

If you notice, Naz isn't just acting differently within the walls of his prison. He's different in how he talks and acts to people visiting him, including his lawyers. He's different in how he acts in the courtroom, the looks and expressions he gives to witnesses, etc. And, within the walls of his prison, every decision that Naz has made has been his own, although hesistantly at first. But as the show has gone on, he's become more and more of a willing participant to all kinds of ****ed up ****, most recently as an accomplice to an in-prison murder.

It seems like the show might be moving toward a resolution which will show that, despite potentially being innocent of this girl's murder, Naz is still a monster and a danger to others. Being innocent of one thing does not make you innocent of everything.

that kiss ruined the episode for me so forced :whatever:

one more episode seems they need more than an hour to tie up all loose ends

Dr. Katz was on point yesterday and a great subject that didn't get rattled by the prosecutor. Reminded me of the Colonel on Season 2 of Daredevil who openly admitted that he screwed up and got his men trapped, saying that he'd give Frank Castle a medal of honor. At every point it seemed like the prosecution was going for Katz's jugular, even bringing up previous praise, he had a good response.

not sure how theres only one episode left, doesnt seem like theres enough time to resolve all the loose ends.

That's good. One hour would not nearly be enough. My only fear is that the reveal is lackluster.

That lawyer is cute, so Naz kissing her didn't feel forced to me. What else has he got to loose?

Are they suggesting that the detective rigged Nas' inhaler with drugs, hence why different drugs showed up in his system?

And the foot eczema has been cured!

Loved Dr. Katz. That dude might be my favorite character on this show. Shame he hasn't been in it more. Also, that prosecutor is a f***ing hack. I loved her flimsy attempt to discredit him. "Yeah, so, you didn't come out and say my shady-as-hell coroner should be thrown in jail during an event being held in his honor, so we clearly can't trust anything you say on the stand!" LOL.

I honestly don't know who the hell committed the murder. The intro scene made it seem like it could be a serial killer, and if so then I would say that Creepy Misogynistic Undertaker would be the prime suspect, though Duane Reade is also a possibility. Although the thing with the inhaler almost made it look like it could be Detective Box. I doubt that though.

As for Nas kissing the lawyer... I didn't have a problem with him doing it but I feel like she should have been taken aback by it sooner. Even if she is attracted to him, it made her look really unprofessional. Still, I like her character otherwise so I'll let it slide.

Lastly, Stone is pretty f***ing stupid for a guy who is so sharp. He REALLY didn't expect the stepdad to notice him showing up at his gym? The guy was IN the courtroom; he knows EXACTLY what he looks like. Really stupid on his part.

I loved it that the prosecutor couldn't rattle or trip up Dr. Katz, especially by using a bit of flattery... he countered her every time on each point... he WAS the best part of the episode...

So how do you guys think this is gonna end?
Naz is revealed as the killer and is convicted or let off?
The killer is revealed but Naz still goes to jail?
We never find out the killer?

I think Naz will get off but the justice system has broken him so much that he has turned into or has let out the criminal in him and he won't be able to be the sweet boy we knew from the start.

Also has it been brought up that if Naz stabbed her that many times why there wasn't more blood/blood residue on him? Like blood mist, etc.

I don't agree with you because Nasir behaviors does not help him. He is going to the path without return, where the judge and the jury look to him how a guilty and in the prison his is not be able to do some things to survivor, so, his safety is temporary, until Freddy drop out.

I think that has 5 major suspects:
1- Nasir - But i don't think that HBO could put him how a guilty, mainly in this moment where there are many prejudices with islamics.
2- The guy in the Shell - He is crazy, but his madness is very interesting because he is just a fanatic, i think he is not be able to do something like that.
3- The drugs guy - But i don't think that he is crazy to do it, he can get his money of the other forms.
4 - Don - He is the mainly suspect but i think that HBO is not doing it so easy to us. I guess he is guilty, but...
5- The insurance guy - I guess that the ex-husband of girl mother and the insurance guy work together and this man killed the woman. Why? If he is a nice worker, why is was discuss during the burial cerimony? He just should doing his work. Besides, he was very manipulator with Jack.

But, i am not suprised if the killer is the cat. lol :oldrazz:

I'm wondering if it ends with him somehow being innocent... then he kills the lawyer he kissed.

Jesus, I thought they made things point to Box as the killer for a bit there. That'd be a real cop out. But I like how he probably thinks there's much more to this and he can't retire yet.
