The Night Of | HBO Miniseries

I'm going to go with Duane Reade or someone we haven't seen yet. I could see Naz still ends the series in jail even if he didn't do it - showing again how broken the justice system is in America.

The kiss between Naz and his lawyer came from the British series the show is adapted from - but it still needed more work over the last couple of episodes for it to be believable.

There's still something very surreal about the first ep. It almost seems like this whole thing could be going on in Naz's head.

Lord I hope not. :( I don't like those kinds of creator cheats. "Just kidding!"

This show rivals Line of Duty in best real life depiction of police and legal procedure. You actually have to build a credible case against suspects in these shows while most cop or legal shows barely bother with that stuff.

I hope not either... I don't want to see a repetition of the Dallas dream season or the St. Elsewhere fantasy series finale... THAT would be the ULTIMATE copout...

Tonight's the night...

IT WAS THE CAT

It was Freddy. He got that female guard he's banging to let him out for one night so he could kill the girl and frame Nas just so he could have someone in Rikers that would smuggle drugs for him.

BOOM.

Great finale that was. John Turturro's closing argument alone felt nomination worthy. The Night Of just replace The Night Manager as my second favorite series of the year, right behind The People vs. OJ Simpson.

That cat got away with everything!

Loved the finale

True they didnt reveal the killer, although they leaned heavily on who it was, but I still loved it. The acting, the score...I haven't ever been that tense watching a TV show. No complaints here

The funny thing to me are people calling it a happy ending. It reminds me how people criticize True Detective s1 and Breaking Bad for having "happy endings" when they're not really that at all. True, they arent "everybody dies" type deals but look at it:
-Naz's family is still broke and have to move due to harassment
-Stone's eczema is back and worse than ever and it doesn't seem like his life was made any better...in fact it seems kinda worse
-Naz has become hardened and is a drug addict
-Naz's relationship with his mother is destroyed
-Chandra's career is over

Sure Naz is free but there are still too many negative aspects for me to categorize it as a happy ending

Interesting way to end the show. I thought the finale was probably the best episode after the first one.

Well that was a perfect finale and the best episode. It's not something you see often. I really don't see anything wrong with it. The best finale I've seen in a very long time. They really hit every beat here. Just loved it. This is looking to be the number one show of the year for me.

Great finale. I don't know why but I never suspected [BLACKOUT]Royal Pains Guy[/BLACKOUT]. It makes perfect sense though.

Also, totally geeked out when I realized the judge was the Yellow King.

I want Bill Camp to get his own spinoff.

I agree that Stone's closer really was great. :) He was my favorite character.

Yeah, me neither but I should have.
The Royal Pains guy suddenly appearing two episode before the finale? That's not important or anything right? But they totally tricked me, which is the mark of great mystery writing.

Yeah, I agree. It was sorta like, "Oh hey! I know that guy!". But that's as far as my mind went with it, lol.

I'm just happy he got the cat back.

I feel bad for Chandra though. She made a huge mistake, sure, but Stone pretty much f***ed her career.

Yeah, I was bummed when he gave it up there in the middle, but then Stone redeemed himself by taking it back. :)
