Another raving review!
THE DARK KNIGHT is not only the best film I have seen this year, but quite possibly the best superhero movie ever made.

Can someone please post the non-spoilery part?

"An outstanding achievement in pulp cinema that will leave every single last audience member soaked in sweat, wishing it would never end. Heath Ledger isn't as good as the hype surrounding his performance, he is above it and better than any single quote that has ****ed his name."

I stopped reading the full review because it seemed like it might go into spoilers. Maybe somebody else will confirm or deny.
After reading the "10 Reasons I Loved TDK" review I just have one little rant...
He talks about how the core of the movie is about Harvey Dent. I just find this kind of odd, considering this is a Batman film. Shouldn't the core of the movie be focused around Batman and his struggles? Nolan even stated how the movie was primarly about Batman, but this reviwer is saying something else. Even the trailers and TV spots are focused on Batman and Joker, you hardly see Dent.
My question is...am I going to be let down when I see this movie? I wanted to see alot of Batman and Joker, but I just can't see how I'm going to love it if its about Dent's tragic downfall into becoming Two-Face...

Nolan has said many times that the core of the story is Dent's tragic downfall. However, I think what is meant by this is "Dent's downfall as it relates to Batman/Wayne". From what I understand, Bruce sees the rise of Dent as hope that he may one day be able to retire Batman. So in a way, Dent's fall means no rest for Batman.
I see what you mean, but if that is true then that goes against Batman's relationship with the Joker. The whole idea that "they need eachother." Batman doesn't want to kill Joker, because deep down inside, he wants to keep fighting evil, and with no Joker, there is nothing left to fight. If as you say, Bruce wants the crime to come to an end, then he has no reason for wanting to keep Joker alive...it ruins that whole relationship that they have. Im not the biggest Batman fan so I may have my data wrong, but this is what I have heard...Nolan has said many times that the core of the story is Dent's tragic downfall. However, I think what is meant by this is "Dent's downfall as it relates to Batman/Wayne". From what I understand, Bruce sees the rise of Dent as hope that he may one day be able to retire Batman. I updated the first post. Every glowing review is just making me more and more hyped. If even the determined Batman-haters at CHUD have to grudgingly call the film good, then it must be spectacular.
