Alfred has been and continues to get overshadowed (pun intended) by the Dark Knight and darn it, its just isn't right.

Alfred has played a huge role in the development of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

My ancestors suffered over 400 years of servitude, so I really have a lot of sympathy towards Alfred since he has been at the beckon call of his rich white man Master for over 65 years and counting. (Fight the power Alfred!)

So this thread is for you, you English stud!

And really, Alfred is the only member of the cast who is official English and is proud of it (just like I proud to be African-American) unlike the others with their phony American accents.

So come on, post pictures of Alfred in his various incarnations from the comics, T.V., and movies, write about your favorite Alfred moments, tell your favorite Alfred jokes, post pictures of your favorite Alfred memorabilia and express your expectations for Alfred in TDK. (Let him wear the Batsuit for one scene Nolan!)

Lets not let him get overshadowed by Bats, Joker, Two-Face, and all of these other superficial characters any longer.

Alfred is the glue that really keeps this whole thing together.

If we are persistent and come out in force, maybe we can even convince W.B. to do an Alfred spin off movie. I mean, what in the hell does he do when Batman is out at night and Bruce is at the office doing the day?

Dammit, I spelled official wrong. Damm Batman, this is his fault!

I want to see the Alfred Trilogy: Alfred Begins, The Dark Butler, and The Dark Butler Returns and I want Ridley Scott to direct!

Can't a butler get a little love?

NEVAH!!

:p j/k
heres to Alfred :raises glass:

Alfred is the man. Forget Robin, he is the Dark Knight's true confidant and lynchpin. Here's hoping Michael Caine gets more screentime in TDK.

Also, to prove my point that Alfred gets no love.

Whats his last name?

That's right, Pennyworth. They are saying he is not worth anymore than a PENNY! Those bastards! :cmad:

If I was him, I'd walk. Then we would see how successful Batman's war on crime goes. :whatever:

Mods, if you have at least one iota of respect for this poor soul, please have the dignity to make this thread a sticky. Don't do it for me, do it for Alfred and the Alfreds of the world who continue to get exploited.

I have to admit, as much as the show BOP sucked, Alfred was amazing in it. Spot on, best interpretation of him I've seen. Better than Begins, and I am by no means a hater of Begins.

UPDATE

Saw this on Michael Caine's official site. Here's a little bit from the man himself on TDK....

Michael’s comments

2007 Continued
I have just returned from a long Holiday to get over one of the most exhausting jobs I have ever done, I always knew it was going to be hard work but never knew what a joy it would have been to work with Jude Law, Kenneth Branagh and Harold Pinter. It was really a wonderful experience. I went to Miami with my family for three weeks, then stayed in New York, which I loved for a week, then travelled to Paris and the Loire Valley with some good friends. Very soon I will start working on Batman which I am looking forward to.

I will keep you informed.

Yeah, him and Mia Sara were well cast.

I cannot believe this thread died. No love for Alfred...or Michael Caine.

This alfred's overrated. He's just Michael Caine looking a little tired but cracking a few jokes now and again.

don't flame me because I'm not saying he's terrible just not something to write home about.
