The Office Season 7 - - Part 1

Basically they're setting up to be the last season of the show. Eventually Jim will have realize he has to knuckle up andtake over as regional manager, if only to keep the Scranton office itself from self-destructing. Which would be a good "full circle" ending for the show.

I'll disagree with some of the comments here as I loved last nights show

It would've been good and full circle if last season ended on that note (which was the natural ending point of the manager search storyline). But it seems like they've come back to that.

I was actually waiting for Jim to go into the manager's office and "take over," only for Andy to come back and see his friend, having stolen his job. It seems to me that Robert wanted Jim to displace Nellie. It's like they set up for it but at the last minute a writer said, "Wait! How can we stretch this story out even further?"

Also, with Spader leaving (if the show continues) I'm thinking that Robert is going to get exposed as a fraud before the season ends (very similar to Nellie). He talks a big game, uses his words to confuse and disorient people but he really seems to have no business know-how. His management skills have been at best inept (willing to sell products that he considers to be total ****, forcing his underlings to handle his marital issues, unwilling to take any kind of risk or expand the company, unwilling to even put his foot down in a simple staffing issue). I am starting to think that he is a glorified conman and that will be the big reveal in the finale.

Me too, and they were clearly setting that up with Dwight "taking" Darryl's office... and then Darryl kicking his ass.

I only ever watch this show anymore because I'm bored but last night was so wretchedly awful. I just hate most of the cast now and the writing is gawdawful. This show has no heart or soul anymore. Andy Bernard is such an awful character.

Andy Bernard is a great character. His development from entitled, devious rage-aholic to lovable, jackass is among the best on the show. Sadly we haven't seen Andy Bernard since last season's finale. Now Michael Scott 2.0 on the other hand is a terrible character. ;)

It's disturbing how much he really has become Michael 2.0.... I was watching an episode recently and it was like he was playing Steve Carell playing Michael Scott. :csad:

The writers needed to fill their leftover Michael stories by shoehorning Andy in there.

Please quit *****ing . The current story arc has been very good . If you think the show is awful , Just quit watching the show .

No, the current story arc is not good. This whole season is garbage. There are too many plot points that are either completely ignored after being introduced (Andy and Robert's wife), completely thrown away after a few episodes (Kathy trying to sleep with Jim), or concocted for absolutely no reason other than filler (Andy's other girlfriend). Catherine Tate's character is just unbearable to watch. James Spader is basically mailing it in. Last episode must have been really easy for him, his character didn't give a **** about the branch and he doesn't give a **** about the show which is why he's jumping ship after one season. Robert California was horribly written a few weeks into the season.

I thought that last week's episode was worse than this week's, but that's still not saying much. Catherine Tate needs to GTFO. I'll still keep watching it, though, just because I don't think this show has much longer to go. If it makes it past next season, I'll be surprised.

She was the absolute WORST companion in Doctor Who and she's even worse here :(

She has lost alot of weight though, so good for her

What they need to do is kill her off. Not just quit, kill her...slowly and painfully.

Yeah. I mean, my God, people....... she's not Lori Grimes or anything. :o

Deadline:
‘The Office’ Showrunner Paul Lieberstein Preps His Exit As Return Of Key Cast Members Still In Limbo
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

The Office will have a new behind-the-scenes boss next season as Paul Lieberstein is stepping down as executive producer-showrunner. He is expected to land a hand while he preps the potential spinoff series starring Rainn Wilson, The Farm, which he co-created, but search is under way for a new showrunner to take the reins of the veteran comedy series next season. Meanwhile, conversations with key Office cast members John Krasinski, Ed Helms, Jenna Fischer and B.J. Novak, who have no deals beyond this season, continue, though I hear that they have stalled for the moment. Locking in as many actors of the core quartet as possible is critical for the future of the series in light of the potential departures of Wilson, who would segue onto the spinoff series sometime next season, and Mindy Kaling, who has a pilot in the running at Fox. Additionally, this season’s addition James Spader recently announced that he will be leaving in May.
Alright, I think this has gone on long enough.... it's time for someone to grab the rifle, take this show out behind the shed and it put it out of it's misery. :o

yeah, just end it already

this entire season has had more hits than misses. and if Catherine Tate is sticking around, i probably will not watch the show as much anymore.

it's already bad enough that characters like Kevin and Erin have become beyond ******ed. seriously, how can anyone be with a woman like Erin? i don't care how cute she is, she is dumber than a rock.

Right now I would love to post the clip of American Dad when Stan killed his childhood dog. It fits so perfectly with the office.

With Paul Lieberstein gone there maybe be some hope as once he took over as showrunner from Greg Daniels the show started to decline. All Daniels did was help launch Parks and Recreation, sit back and watch the syndication money come in.

Helms also agreed to guest star in Mindy's pilot at Fox as an ex-boyfriend so that's probably not a good sign that he's coming back.

This is probably who will stay on next year

Returning
Stanley
Oscar
Phylis
Angela
Creed
Meredith
Kevin
Daryl
and Dwight until his spinoff starts.

Departures
Robert California
Kelly (if her Fox series gets picked up)
Andy
Erin
Jim
Pam
Ryan
Toby (maybe he stays but is used less often)
Kathy (no one would notice or care)

Uhhhhhmmmmm.

In addition to being a diehard Bridget Jones and You've Got Mail fan, Mindy Kaling has also gone on record as a West Wing enthusiast. (The relevant tweet: "I love The West Wing so much I can't bear it." There's also this post about how Aaron Sorkin characters are her favorite kind of guys, along with self-effacing NBA players and Good Dads.) So congrats to Mindy, who will soon realize every WW fan's dream of standing opposite Toby Ziegler for at least three minutes. Richard Schiff has signed on to Kaling's Fox pilot, as "a menschy but accomplished OBGYN" who "is terrible with technology and tells stories about the 60s and 70s." Ed Helms and Bill Hader have also landed guest roles on the pilot; Helms will play a potential love interest, while Hader will play her ex. Yeah, we're still thinking about Toby trying to use an iPad. Perfect.

Seriously. It's the humane thing to do at this point.

If this show was a human being, it would be on life-support after being set on fire, run over by train, losing 3 out of 4 of it's limbs and having it's body torn to shreds by a bear all at once. Just please, NBC...... pull the ****ing plug. :csad:

that's roughly half the cast

if that's going to be the case, then just end the show
