I've heard reports that the Hulk will be more intelligent in this movie than previous films, so wouldnt that be like 2 steps back haha

Not really, at the end of The Incredible Hulk it was hinted at Norton becoming the Grey Hulk/Professor Hulk.

I just read that on Newsarama and I'm stoked about it! Bendis also mentioned that he plans on using it to try and rebuild his relationships with Spider-Man, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. I hope that confirms that those 3 are staying on the New Avengers book.

I actually really loved the cast of New Avengers but Bendis said changes in rosters are coming with Fear Itself but I'd hate to see that team shift. I like seeing Luke, Spidey, Iron Fist, Thing, and Jessica Jones on one team with Wong and Squirrel Girl as support staff. I'm not as big on Dr. Strange or Ms. Marvel but Ms Marvel has history with Jessica Jones and Dr. Strange brings Wong... so I guess I'm okay with it. Wolverine and Mockingbird I can take or leave.

I'm hoping that Wolverine leaves the team as a result of Schism and Daredevil fills his roster. I'd also love if Bendis replaced Mockingbird with Spider-Woman and I think that'd be a perfect lineup for Bendis. And the Street level vibe that it's got works for Bendis's strengths.

If the latest issue of NA is any indication both Hawkeye and Mockingbird will be off the team. I'm sure Ben Grimm will be after the Fear Itself issues. DD on the team sounds interesting but I have 2 issues with it. First is, I'm considering dropping the book after the horrible recent arc.

Second, Bendis put a (successful) noir spin on DD and now Mark Waid is coming on to do the totally opposite take on the character, making him more super-heroey again. Either Bendis is going to go against the grain of what Waid is doing (like he normally does) or we'll get a lot of Bendis time wasting banter/lazy writing with DD and the team:

"I thought you were bad? I was. Now you're good? Yeah. Really? Feeling good. Great. Good."

Then I jump off a roof...... Either way, it screams potential FAIL to me.

On paper, the team of Spidey, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, DD, Ms. Marvel, Strange and Squirrel-Girl sounds terrific but we have to stop and remember who's righting it before throwing a parade. Before you know it we randomly find out Squirrel-Girl killed Mussolini 70 years ago.....

Yeah both Mark Waid and Bendis are having DD shape up his relations with other heroes, Mark Waid already confirmed the heroes are distrustful and it seems Captain America is in #2.

Also it seems we're finally getting DD's death arc from Bendis, Mack, Klaus Janson and Bill. This is like "what if DD dies for reeeaaaaal" story that Bendis has talked since.... Bru's DD run? :p

Well, on paper for 7 issues it was a great team (Thing in DD's place). Bendis did a really good job with them on a story and character level. It's only sucked for the past few issues and, in my opinion, that's been because of the 1959 Avengers story (and art). The Superior story would have been alright without the flashback story because it would have been only about 3 issues long and that would have greatly helped it out.

Also, Bendis has shown that he can write Iron Fist, Luke, and Spidey well together (even Wolverine's fun in that group) and he's an old pro at writing Daredevil... it's what he did best in fact. Him writing Bucky was out of his comfort zone but he knows how Daredevil works. So yeah, I still definately think it's something to be excited about. I'm just hoping that this current arc wraps up decently and the next arc can be closer to the first.

The entire Mockingbird arc is a waste of time. Now she's going to be a Cap/Logan type with powers and doesn't age. Did we really need the 50's story for that? Did we need the whole arc all together? Give me McCann's Mockingbird any day.....

in the new preview for #14 (i think), Cap is wearing the Cap suit, then a page later he's wearing the super soldier suit.

this book is just so sloppy on every level..writing, art, editing, coloring

ridiculous

To my understand the dialogue panels jump from time to time, so you see a flashback and then modern and so on.

- Dark Avengers come back as said a few times already, ya!
- Revengers are all ex-Avengers, ruh roh that seems worrysome. I just can't see why would Bendis think its a good idea for ex-Avengers to want to stop the Avengers with violence? Like what?!
- Daredevil, ya!

This cover is awesome:

Well at least Thing and Ms Marvel are still there........f***king Wolverine.....

I think that the events of Schism aren't going to affect the Marvel Universe until Schism is complete. If Wolverine leaves, it'll be by November at the earliest.

It's not hating. I'm a huge fan of Uncanny X-Force which Logan is basically the leader and I'm a regular reader of his solo title. I'm tired of the saturation of the character across the line. Marvel does it with him, Spider-Man and Deadpool.

Sales on his solo book would skyrocket if it was one of the few books you could find him in every month instead of in the crapper like they are now. Marvel has a more is more attitude that caused them to go bankrupt in the first place. They don't seem to learn their lesson and it causes the entire line of titles to suffer. They refuse to scale back and that's a problem and a choke hold on our wallets.

You know what annoys me... for the sake of complaining....?

Crossovers and linking comics!!! I have so little interest in the Avengers title but LOVE the team on New Avengers and am loving it more with Daredevil joining. It's jaunting though to drop Avengers and only collect New knowing that they're going to influence each other and get caught up in events every year.

Can't we just get that team and tell stories with them for a few years without interuptions or big status quo shifts or what ever? FRUSTRATING!

Hopefully it was a one arc flook for this new run. The Superia story could have been decent without the flashbacks. Bendis said that whatshisname... the artist for the flashbacks... came up with that storyline idea and he held onto it until he could use it... which linked with the Mockingbird story. Hopefully he got that plot out of his system and won't revisit it and we can move on.

Hopefully the Fear Itself tie-ins will be decent (better than Avengers anyhow) and the stuff after that sounds pretty interesting, the return fo the Dark Avengers and Osborn (though I'm assuming it's a new Dark Avengers but we'll see) and Daredevil joining the team. I'm excited for it.

I'm still on the fence only because of DD. It's something that's technically never been done yet so I'm holding off from dropping this book totally. But one false move and I'm gone....

1959 Avengers Mini

And I'm excited about this because this means it won't be a continuing plot in New Avengers... thank God!

Phaedrus45 will be happy though since he loved those stories and wished the whole thing would have been theirs.

Is anyone else worried about who all will be in the "Revengers"? Wonder Man's sudden arbitrary hatred of his old team is apparently going to carry over into other people, and you just know he's going to butcher some classic Avengers.

Wonder Man, Black Knight, She-Hulk, Hank Pym, Tigra, the Falcon, and U.S. Agent

That's not the actual roster. I'd have to hurt someone if that were the actual roster. :o

I'm worried. Bendis apparently feels he hasn't ruined enough characters he didn't create. Anything he writes becomes "Insta-Canon" that is editorially mandated and supported down the line, and any issues it creates is left to other writers to fix, run with, omit, or otherwise fix. Yet no Marvel editor would admit any writer's stuff is more important than any others...even if Bendis' position is something of a Not Editor. He's above a writer, but isn't an editor (because he doesn't desire the role). So he's something betwixt.

Peter Milligan remains the only writer who DARED undo something Bendis personally did in an event (depowering Iceman in M-Day), and you'll notice he's never been allowed to write as big a Marvel book as UNCANNY X-MEN ever again. Part of me refuses to see that as coincidence. Nowadays he sticks to DC or spare material in Marvel anthologies.

I am dreading, no pun intended, seeing more characters I like narratively mutilated. Did he forget that Wonder Man's tenure in the MASTERS OF EVIL ended in his first appearance in the 60's? That nobody wants to see heroes hit each other anymore? That X-MEN SCHISM has literally been met by a collective GROAN by the masses for that very reason? Sigh. More things from Bendis The Horrendous that the Handbook people will have to find a way to smooth over.

(The Handbook literally blamed the Bendis-led character subplot of Wasp bringing up the "slap" incident over and over after 2004, which was contrary to years of development, as mental instability caused by growing to giant-size that effects many size-changers. Great save, fellas.)
