Tie Fighters VS Millennium Falcon but with gut wrenching screams replacing the Tie sounds :funny:

Truly, one of the best fantasy films of the 1980's was John Borman's EXCALIBUR, based on one of the seminal tales of Western culture, the legends of King Arthur and his Knights of the round table. I have often thought since I started to watch GAME OF THRONES that EXCALIBUR is very much the GOT of it's time, in so much that it took the fantasy genre and dirtied it up quite a bit. It took a story that had been done on film often but made it a tangible world. Here is a fine fan video using O FORTUNA, which was utilized so brilliantly in the film. [YT]y3cXcS49D64[/YT]

Keeping with the theme of swords, here is a very nice montage that captures the soul of the sword, sword makers and sword masters as seen on film. [YT]25VtriCY8ag[/YT]

Shedd Aquarium has taken in an orphaned sea otter, and they posted a video of her up on youtube. The cuteness factor is almost too much to handle.

Captain America as if it were an early 1990's VHS trailer. It's the little things like the fonts, lines in the image and voice over work that show the fan that put this together was making a real effort. I find it funny as hell, but of course, YMMV. [YT]JY5eELnVISc[/YT]

The AGE OF ULTRON trailer AVENGERS: EMH style. [YT]SEuFkkMkARw[/YT]

The band RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and THE INCREDIBLE HULK. Seems like a chocolate and peanut butter kind of deal to me. [YT]0OG5ZcEgtEc[/YT]

It was a time, before CGI. A time when the imagery for stories for the really young was allowed to go to the edge. When the foundation for the entertainment world of today, rife with fantasy projects, was laid. It was the 1980's.... And it was good.

The journey begins with a call to partake in a struggle against the forces of chaos, destruction, madness or evil. The hero decides if he or she can even begin the trip, much less finish it. If they continue, they will face danger and confront what they would like to ignore about themselves and be all the stronger for it. But this requires that they take that first step and answer the call... To Quest. [YT]2xpoxuQjR2c[/YT]

Two great lesser lights of the 1980's fantasy film era, brought together. Kenny Loggins' cover of the America title theme to the Rankin/Bass animated feature THE LAST UNICORN, mixed together with imagery from Ridley Scott's under-appreciated Tom Cruise vehicle LEGEND. [YT]QjfsbPnIgVI[/YT]

One of journeyman director Richard Donner's greatest little triumphs. The beautifully shot, acted and written film of true love, dark magic, thrilling adventure and above all, memorable characters (with one hell of a climactic sword fight, in a church on the day of an eclipse... I KID YOU NOT!!)... LADY HAWKE. [YT]I4wwloYp2G8[/YT]

Another time, another place, another world... The world of Jim Henson's THE DARK CRYSTAL, with the song MADOKARA MIERU by CORNER STONE CUES. [YT]zGL-5GbYfJo[/YT]

This one is just for Kane. DAFT PUNK's CONTACT with 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY. Trippy and well done. [YT]dVrhGFIU9RM[/YT]

Two films, same story, different cultures. THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN.

The trailer for AKIRA KUROSAWA'S epic. A Western for the East, and one of the greatest films of all time. [YT]qZl2M8BLERs[/YT]

A fan music video that sort of plays like a modern day silent film... With techno music. :word: Spoilers abound so if you haven't seen the film yet, I suggest you skip this video. [YT]m-4cifip98U[/YT]

For American audiences, Yul Brynner bought the rights to create a Hollywood version of Kurosawa's film and director John Sturges did an amazing job with a film that might not be as soulful as the original, but it sure is a crowd pleasing treat, for both the eyes, the heart and the ears, with Elmer Bernstein writing a phenomenal theme that stands the test of time even today, Here are the trailer and a fan video for THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN (co-incidentally... That is also the original name of Kurosawa's film in Japan), oh and spoilers again so if you haven't seen the film and don't want anything ruined, I say just skip the vids. [YT]YICxp8nUzKE[/YT]
